00:00In the eerie caverns deep beneath Olympus, close to the entrance of the Underworld, resided three female monsters of untold
00:08hideousness. Monsters with awful scaly skin, hands made of brass, fangs more like tusks, talons of ire, serpent coils as
00:19legs, poisonous snakes as hair, and eyes of death itself.
00:23So horrifying were they, that a mere gaze upon them, petrified anyone to death, and turned them into stones.
00:33The Gorgons, children of the sea, daughters of the deep.
00:54Steno the fierce. Steno, the strong. The immortal Gorgon, who never aged. The daughter of the sea deity, forces, and
01:04the goddess of the deep, Seto, she was the eldest of the three Gorgons.
01:09Steno was the most independent of her Gorgon sisters, Euryli, and Medusa. Her strength surpassed that of her sisters, and
01:17her ferocity, but littled their own.
01:20She was bloodthirsty, and always eager to kill, so much so, that she killed many more men, than both of
01:27her sisters, combined.
01:29In appearance, Steno was thin, and tall, with an upper body that resembled that of a woman, and the lower
01:36body of a huge snake.
01:38She had red scaly skin, a long protruding tongue, and red snakes, curling around her scaly head, in place of
01:45hair.
01:46She had eyes, which glowed in the dark, and turned anyone who looked upon them, into stones.
01:52Around her waist, was a long snake, tied as a belt.
01:57The later Roman depictions, took away some of the Gorgon's hideousness, showing Steno and her sisters, as beautiful women, with
02:04snake hair.
02:05Combining the urge to behold their beauty, with the fear of instant death.
02:10Aside Euryli and Medusa, Steno had other siblings, who were not Gorgons.
02:16Some were still monsters, some, were hags, and some, were nymphs.
02:22They include, the Hesperides, the Gryhi, Thusa, Skyla, and Leiden.
02:29Steno never left her dark home, in the caverns.
02:33Hidden by the darkness, she and her sisters, laid in wait, for unwary travelers,
02:38and those foolish enough to enter the caverns.
02:41With the great strength of a cuttlefish, and her intense urge to kill,
02:46most of the intruders and men, who wandered into the caverns, possibly met their cruel deaths, at the hands of
02:52Steno.
02:53In popular versions of Greek mythology, Steno and her two sisters, were not born Gorgons,
02:59but were beautiful women, who served in the temple of Athena.
03:03When Medusa, the most beautiful of the three, became boastful, she caught the attention of Poseidon, lord of the seas,
03:11who then laid with her, right before the statue of Athena.
03:15Athena punished Medusa, by turning her into an ugly Gorgon.
03:19And when Steno and Euryli, tried to defend their sister, the goddess also turned them into Gorgons.
03:26After the death of their mortal sister, Steno and Euryli, continued to live, as they were immortal, and could not
03:33die.
03:34It is often said, that the two, relocated to the underworld, where they were used by Hades, to torment the
03:41dead.
03:59In the eerie caverns deep beneath Olympus, close to the entrance of the underworld,
04:04resided three female monsters of untold hideousness.
04:08Monsters with awful scaly skin, hands made of brass, fangs more like tusks, talons of ire, serpent coils as legs,
04:17poisonous snakes as hair, and eyes of death itself.
04:21So horrifying were they, that a mere gaze upon them, petrified anyone to death, and turned them into stones.
04:29The Gorgons, children of the sea, daughters of the deep.
04:50Euryli, the fast bringer, the wide leaper, the squid-like one.
04:55Born after Steno, and before Medusa, she was the second eldest, of the Gorgons.
05:02The daughter of the sea-god Phosys, and the goddess of the deep, Ceto, she was also the sister to
05:07Laiden, Thusa, the Hesperides, the Gryhi, and the six-headed Skylar.
05:14Euryli neither had the might of Steno, nor the wits, of Medusa, but she was the fastest, and the most
05:21agile of them.
05:22She could spring to great heights, with ease, and cover far distances, with just a single leap.
05:29Thus, she was called the far leaper.
05:32With loud deafening cries that echoed through the caves, and terrifying death bellows that reverberated through the earth, she was
05:39the loudest of the sisters, the noisiest of the three.
05:43Like the Gorgon she was, Euryli had the hands of bronze, the lower body of a snake, skin covered with
05:50scales, sharp tusks, as fangs, long snaky tongue, hair of living venomous snakes, and glowing eyes which turned people to
05:59stones.
05:59As a distinct physical feature however, Euryli had tough knuckles, instead of claws.
06:06Her skin was of grey, or violet colour, and the snakes on her head, were of the same greyish or
06:12violet colour.
06:13Like her elder sister Steno, she was an immortal Gorgon, who neither grew old, nor died.
06:20Born in the caves beneath Mount Olympus, Euryli rarely ever left her home.
06:26With her Gorgon sisters, she hid in the darkness of the caves, away from the light, laying waste to any
06:32victim, who trespassed into their territory.
06:35In a different version of the myth, the three Gorgons were once maidens, who served the virgin goddess, Athena.
06:42When the pretty Medusa, incurred the wrath of Athena, by being defiled, she was transformed into a Gorgon, along with
06:50Euryli and Steno, who stood with her.
06:52Being too ugly for the world, they withdrew, to the dark caverns.
06:59After the mortal Medusa was beheaded by Perseus, it was Euryli's death bellowing screams, that drew the attention of Steno.
07:06They both tried to avenge their sister's death, but failed, because Perseus was aided by the gods.
07:13With the loss of one of their own, it is said, that the immortal two, Euryli and Steno, found a
07:20new home, in the underworld, as servants of Hades, tormenting the souls of the dead, at their masters will.
07:43In the eerie caverns deep beneath Olympus, close to the entrance of the underworld, resided three female monsters of untold
07:51hideousness.
07:52Monsters with awful scaly skin, hands made of brass, fangs more like tusks, talons of ire, serpent coils as legs,
08:02poisonous snakes as hair, and eyes of death itself.
08:05So horrifying were they, that a mere gaze upon them, petrified anyone to death, and turned them into stones.
08:14The Gorgons, children of the sea, daughters of the deep.
08:34Medusa, guardian of the caves, the Gorgon queen, reigning supreme, not by might, nor by power, but by wits, by
08:43wisdom, by charm and beauty.
08:46The most famous Gorgon in all of Greek mythology, Medusa is seen in many different lights.
08:52To some, she was a terror of nature, a hideous creature with glaring eyes, evil, dreadful, and terrifying, with hatred
09:01for mortal man.
09:02And to some, she was a victim of ill fate, the one who was both a monster, and a beauty,
09:08the fairest of the Gorgons.
09:11Medusa was the daughter of forces, the old man of the sea, and Seto, the monster goddess of the deep.
09:17And the sister to Steno, Euryale, the Gryae, Skyla, Laiden, Thusa, and the Hesperides.
09:26She was also the youngest of the three Gorgons.
09:30According to early myths, Medusa was a born monster, deadly, and hateful, hideous in appearance, the most terrifying of her
09:38sisters, with hair of living snakes, hands and claws of bronze, or tusks, as fangs, the lower body of a
09:46snake, and a gaze so piercing that it turned people to stones.
09:50While according to later poets like Ovid, and Pindar, Medusa was not born a Gorgon, but was very different from
09:57her monstrous sisters, and family.
10:00In these myths, she was born a fair maiden, and not a monster, lovely to behold, and not frightful, greatly
10:08attractive, and not repulsive.
10:10With hair of golden locks, a face so charming, and eyes which sparkled like stars, she was a ravishing beauty,
10:18the desire of many suitors.
10:20A common detail shared by these various myths though, was that, alas, Medusa was a mere mortal, the only one
10:28among her sisters, who was not gifted with immortality, thus, she could be killed, by the weapons of man.
10:35The fair Medusa was once the servant of Athena, serving in the temple of the virgin goddess.
10:42Wherever she went, she was admired for her beauty, praised for her pretty looks.
10:48Soon, the showers of praises began to get to her head, and Medusa gradually became boastful, likening herself to Athena,
10:56comparing her beauty to that of the goddess.
10:58She believed her hair was prettier, and her face was lovelier.
11:03One day, her golden locks, caught the attention of the sea god Poseidon, who immediately lusted after her.
11:10At the coming of dusk, Poseidon quietly crept into the temple, and seduced Medusa, mating with her, in the sacred
11:18temple, defiling her, in front of the virgin goddess's statue.
11:23When dawn came, Athena appeared before Medusa, ready to unleash her wrath.
11:29The lord of the seas was blameless, and could not be punished.
11:32So Athena directed her anger, towards her defiled servant, the mortal Medusa.
11:38She turned Medusa's golden hair into poisonous snakes, and made her face so terrible to behold, that the mere sight
11:45of it, would turn anyone into stones.
11:48Medusa became uglier than her sisters, doomed to hide her ugliness, away from the world, for the rest of her
11:54days.
11:56In some stories however, even as a gorgon, Medusa remained beautiful.
12:00Even as a monster, her charms could still not be resisted, tempting men to meet her gaze, and luring them
12:07to their deaths.
12:09In another version of the myth, Medusa's sisters, Steno and Uriali, were also once beautiful maidens, and served alongside her,
12:18in the temple of Athena.
12:20After turning Medusa into a gorgon, as punishment for being defiled, and being boastful, the goddess also turned Steno and
12:27Uriali, into gorgons, for standing with their sister.
12:32Medusa became pregnant with Poseidon's children, after the incident at the temple.
12:37The gorgon would later be slain, by the hero, Perseus, and from her headless body, the winged Pegasus, and the
12:45giant, Chrysoua, would be born.
13:04In the eerie caverns deep beneath Olympus, close to the entrance of the underworld, resided three female monsters of untold
13:12hideousness.
13:14Monsters with awful scaly skin, hands made of brass, fangs more like tusks, talons of ire, serpent coils as legs,
13:23poisonous snakes as hair, and eyes of death itself.
13:26So horrifying were they, that a mere gaze upon them, petrified anyone to death, and turned them into stones.
13:35The gorgons, children of the sea, daughters of the deep.
13:55Many know the myth of the three gorgons, but very few, know of the very first gorgon, to exist in
14:02Greek mythology.
14:03Gorgo X, the elder gorgon, the spirit of the stormy clouds.
14:09Gorgo X, was an ancient gorgon, who existed when the world was still young, during the time of the ancient
14:15titans, before the birth and reign of the Olympians.
14:19It was a monstrous goat, the alter ego of Amalthea, the goatish nurse of baby's use.
14:25Its name literally meant terrible goat, or fierce storm.
14:30Similar to the later gorgons, gorgo had living serpents as hair, tusks as fangs, and long lolling tongue.
14:37However, it had the body of a goat, an ugly flat nose, and was of indescribable gender.
14:44Gorgo could not be referred to, as a he, or a she, because it was neither male, nor female.
14:51It was described, as either a woman, who had manly features, such as a beard, or a man, with womanly
14:58attributes.
14:59Gorgo was an effeminate monster, and was sometimes, said to be the mother, or father of the three gorgons.
15:06Prior to the ten year long war, between the titans and the gods.
15:10Gorgo had spent most of its life, hidden away by Gaia, in a secret cretin cave.
15:15And during the war, the monstrous goat, joined forces with the titans, the enemies of the gods.
15:22Gorgo was slain at the start of the war, by Zeus, who then used the goat skin, to construct his
15:28famous aegis.
15:29Placing its hideous head, at the front of the shield.
15:33This, possibly explains why Zeus, already wielded an aegis, decorated with a gorgon's head, long before the time, and death
15:41of Medusa.
15:43Modeling after her father, Athena also placed the gift of Medusa's head, on her own aegis.
15:49Like father, like daughter.
15:51The images of gorgons, were carved on objects, as protection against evil, in the later times.
15:58Supposedly due to their terrifying gaze.
16:01Now it is rather surprising, why would a creature, which brought only death, terror, and misery, be used as protection
16:08against evil.
16:10To some, there was nothing good about the gorgon, it was like using evil, to ward off evil.
16:16The reason, lies in the myths themselves.
16:19The gorgon was a creature of duality, and was not evil in its entirety.
16:24On one hand, and as itself, it sought to only satisfy its evil tendencies, and on the other hand, it
16:32became a tool, against evil.
16:34Its blood was said to be the cure, to all afflictions, and plagues.
16:39With the gorgon's head, Perseus fell the mighty kraken, and ended the rule of the wicked king, Polydectis.
16:47In the hands of Asclepios, the blood drawn from the gorgon's left side, was used to end lives, and the
16:53blood drawn from the right, was used to raise people from the dead.
16:57And in the hands of Arithonius, the two vials of the gorgon's blood, were used, as a deadly poison, and
17:04the cure to all diseases.
17:06In addition, Steropi placed a lock of the gorgon's hair, in her hometown, Teja, to protect it from enemies, and
17:14the lock, cast great terror, into any enemy who beheld it.
17:35We hope you successfully contend toueling it to the wall over right here, with the stunts with Apollo Guardian for

17:35At last, we reach this number of people, and the war against players, became the lead against the police department.
17:35You know, while we follow up on the why, with the possibility of dealing with drugs, including the будst and
17:35vice deizing,
17:35By many people, we say this story, actually that this war王 was more like the bad being that we can
17:35stand by hypocrite for the fact
17:35And if something is a bad rule, we can keep in talking about the навер whatsappnet steeds
