Transcript
00:02I was eight when I started writing songs.
00:07That was the first thing that I felt like I could do by myself.
00:11I liked how it made me feel to not need to ask anyone for help.
00:20I have always used songwriting as this outlet because I've always been very reactive.
00:27I feel this album is kind of the most holistic reflection of my taste.
00:34The gift of studio time is that I, especially with Aaron,
00:38for whatever reason, as soon as I'm in a room with him,
00:41he just taps into something that allows me to open up again.
00:45There's nothing contrived about it. Gracie, she has something.
00:53It's, like, in her head. The song is there and she's excavating it.
00:58It's, like, in the air in her consciousness and it just spills out.
01:04He wants to always emphasize the story and the voice.
01:11I never imagined that she would become my main collaborator at this point.
01:15I'll try to become you now.
