In his first home game as Auburn Tigers head coach, Alex Golesh was amazed by the reception from the Auburn Family. He also expects his team to be sharper, even after a convincing win over the Eagles.

00:01Incredible Tiger Walk to coming out for warmups and
00:04having a packed out student section.
00:08Man, everybody said it was special and different and
00:12it is special and different.
00:14And I've coached in this league, this place is really, really special.
00:18So grateful to our students, our band, the people that came out.
00:21Tiger Walk, just beyond grateful to be able to come out and
00:30play in a home atmosphere like that.
00:32Obviously affected the opponent in the first quarter offensively with
00:36the crowd noise and certainly need it and more here going into next week.
00:44But super grateful, really, really cool.
00:47I don't take it for granted.
00:49It's not like that everywhere.
00:50So I appreciate that.
00:53For the game, man, really high-end way to start it defensively.
01:02A lot of credit to the pressure and then Dre being there.
01:08If I'm right, maybe his first and second career picks in over 30 starts.
01:13So that was really cool for him.
01:16But to start it the way we started it defensively,
01:20I thought offensively, man, sloppy, and it's not enough on the line of scrimmage.
01:28It's holding, it's a false start, it's holding.
01:31We fumble it in the red zone, then it's holding again at multiple drops.
01:35And I don't mean to sound negative, I just, you know, we finish off the half, the first half,
01:44with a bunch of missed tackles and give up a crazy drive.
01:49I was disappointed with that.
01:53And then in the second half, I thought defensively we picked it up back to how we started and did
02:00a really good job.
02:01I want the false or offsides back outside of that.
02:07I thought the second group went in there and held our own.
02:12The positive on both sides, we got to play a bunch of guys, a bunch of guys that hadn't played
02:18yet, got to play.
02:19So it was really good experience for those guys.
02:22I was just so beyond disappointed in the sloppiness.
02:25I was beyond disappointed in the block in the back and the punt return and then the fumble in the
02:31red zone.
02:32Like, just sloppy, sloppy, and I don't care what the score is, I don't, that's what I just told these
02:37guys.
02:38Like, a win's a win, and winning college football games is hard.
02:42But if the standard is that, and that's what it looks like, then we got, we're going to have a
02:47really, really, really long season.
