00:36This is how we debate, compromise and find solutions, even on controversial issues.
00:43And this openness is our biggest strength.
00:47But it is being weaponized by our opponents to distort debate and truth.
00:53So we need a collective capacity to anticipate, detect and respond.
01:00This is why last year I announced the Center for Democratic Resilience.
01:05It is already delivering with all the Member States and this House.

01:11And we will step up our work, pooling our resources with Member States and stakeholders.
01:18But we should be under no illusion.
01:22The threats to our democracies do not only come from the outside.
01:27We see the rise of anti-democratic, anti-European forces and we know the risks.
01:34But nothing is inevitable.
01:38Just look at Hungary.
01:40The 12th of April will stay in our memory for a very long time.

01:59They chose Europe.
02:01They brought Hungary back to where it belongs, at the heart of the European Union.
