00:00So this AI boom has produced unlikely, maybe somewhat unexpected, maybe unintended
00:10creations of massive amounts of wealth. Fantastic piece from our billionaires team.
00:15AI's unlikely billionaires. Take a look at this table, right? Shows you how manufacturers of
00:20really overlooked industrial products like furniture and materials have really seen their
00:25fortune soar as demand for their company's product soars alongside the AI infrastructure
00:31build out. For more on how these companies have, in some cases, struck gold many times
00:36over, we're joined here and set by Bloomberg Billionaires reporter Gwen Young. To help us
00:42understand, we always hear about big tech Gwen and these big chip makers, but in fact, that
00:47this wealth boom goes beyond just the chip makers themselves. What do we know?
00:52Yeah. So as you said, those chip makers are always the most obvious billionaires, right?
00:58But now we are seeing those like picks and shuffles billionaires behind the AI boom. We can see
01:04that although we need the front end, we need chips, we need some servers, but in the back
01:10end, we also need the infrastructure that supports the whole ecosystem of AI. So for example, just
01:17now you mentioned like Kingslide, this Taiwanese company that they actually produced, they used to
01:23produce furniture drawers lies like you see in the day to day furniture, but now they are also
01:30cabinets. Yeah, cabinets. They are now also producing the slides to hold the very heavy servers in AI data
01:38centers. And as you know, we are getting more and more data centers. The demand for such kind of server
01:44rail kits are also growing. So we are seeing not just we, but also investors, they are seeing this potential
01:51behind these kind of derived demands from the AI boom. So yeah, that's why it's creating a huge fortune. We
01:59are talking
01:59about the 62 billion extra fortune gain after the launch of chat GPT for the founders and major
02:09shareholders of just seven companies that we have identified. But not you know, there is a universe
02:15of them. So it is creating more and more than we expected, you know, yeah, yeah, because the data centers,
02:21you need more than just the cooling stuff, right? You need things like they need to paint it, you need
02:25toilets, you need furniture to your point, and everything in between. So you talked about King
02:31Slide, which is I think the most obvious example, I think we're up at 3,300% in terms of
02:36the market cap
02:36there. Can you give us more examples? What who else are gaining the benefits here from this? So you can
02:44see from the table, the second example, it is called Guangdong Detect, this Chinese company, they used to
02:50make some drill bits, drill holes, of course, but you know, now we need some more like print circuit
02:56boards, right? But they need some extra precision drill bits to create a tiny host so that you can
03:03they can assemble it, right? Yeah, from this kind of secondary demand, we can see that how important
03:09these kind of companies are, we are also having like cyber security that are safeguarding like data
03:15center or the Jane AI, the AgTechs, for example. So we can see from all aspects of the AI ecosystem,
03:23we need some support, not just from chip makers, but also from this kind of second, more secondary
03:29industries. And how did they pivot their businesses to capture this boom? You know, manufacturing companies
03:36managed to capture this wave of AI? I wouldn't say it's actually a pivot. Honestly, they are doing something
03:43that they have been used to used to do for some decades. They are trained to do that. They have
03:49the expertise to do it. And the founders, they are well trained, and they're like some kind of mechanics
03:55background. And they are just trying to adapt to the rising demand from the AI boom. They are just
04:03trying to develop some new product based on their existing expertise. So I wouldn't say it's a pivot,
04:09but they are trying to navigate a new way to, you know, welcome the huge golden opportunity,
04:17like literal golden opportunity that is waiting ahead for them in the AI boom.
04:22I like the quote here. It's literally bringing gold. Exactly. What's the risk here?
04:27Yeah, of course, we are talking about like slowing down AI development these days. This could be one of
04:33the risks for them. But I wouldn't say it's a very huge risk because because there is still a huge
04:40demand for AI is still developing, right? We're not talking about stopping it tomorrow. But also,
04:46they need to adapt themselves to the rapid change in the AI technology. So they have to really observe
04:54what needs to be addressed in the future. And sometimes they need to learn new technology as well.
