Ripe bananas, a handful of pantry staples, and a simple method come together in a banana bread recipe that turns out moist, dense, and full of flavor every time. The batter is built with eggs, sugar, melted butter, baking powder, sifted flour, and walnuts, then baked until the loaf has a golden crust and a soft, springy center.

The process is straightforward and a little chaotic in the best way, from tossing in whole bananas to mixing everything until it comes together. A sprinkle of sugar on top adds a little extra crunch, while the walnuts bring a nice pop in every slice. It’s the kind of easy baking recipe that works for breakfast, dessert, or using up overripe bananas before they go to waste.

If you’re looking for an easy banana bread recipe, moist banana bread, homemade quick bread, or a simple walnut banana bread, this one delivers a reliable loaf with classic comfort-food flavor. It’s a great pick for casual home baking, beginner-friendly recipes, and anyone searching for a delicious banana bread recipe with a soft crumb and toasted top.

00:00Guys my grandma gave me like 7,000 bananas. What does one person do with 7,000 figurative bananas?
00:07I don't actually know but my mom makes a killer banana bread so I'm going to share that with you
00:11guys right now. First thing we're going to need is two eggs
00:22and a little bit of eggshell of course.
00:26I'm bored in heaven. I'm supposed to be a professional. We're going to go ahead and
00:30paddle beat those eggs. In the meantime let's get our next ingredient. Next up we got one cup of
00:37sugar. Next it's one half cup of melted butter. I want to get all of that in there.
00:43One hearty teaspoon of baking powder and this part might be a really bad idea guys but I hate
00:50mashing bananas so I'm just going to dump them in here and see well apparently I'm just going to
00:55mash it before I even open it. I'm going to throw the whole banana in here and see if this
00:58paddle
00:59mashes it. Holy crap guys I think that might work. Guys we're just going to let that run for a
01:04while
01:04until it feels sufficiently mashed. I may have to go back and mash it by hand we'll find out.
01:09Guys so like a big dummy I forgot that I got to put in the flour. I'm sitting here looking
01:14at it and
01:15I'm like man this is basically water right. You need that flour. I got two cups of sifted flour.
01:20It's important that you sift it.
01:27Already working much better. Now finally guys I'm going to take some walnuts. I went ahead and
01:32crushed them up and I roasted them myself. I put a lot of time and effort into it because it's
01:37a very
01:37important step. I'm just going to sprinkle some of those guys down in there and then we'll just
01:42kind of let them do the thing about half a cup or so. Like I said it's a lot of
01:46work to get the
01:47walnuts all cooked up and everything but I did it for you out of love really. It's just love for
01:53my
01:54people you know what I'm saying. Guys now you can use whatever you want. I'm using some PAM spray oil.
01:58You can use oil, butter, whatever you want dude. None of this really matters. Just make sure that you
02:05spray it all down because if you don't your shit will get stuck and that will not be good my
02:09friend.
02:10Guys now this part is very easy. We're just going to go ahead and slide this in here. Make sure
02:16you
02:17get everything off the sides all of that crap. No sense in wasting this delicious banana god nectar.
02:41I like to give it a little shake here. Kind of even it out guys and this is all it
02:45takes.
02:46We're going to go ahead and drop a couple of these walnuts on here. Now I think I mistakenly said
02:49that
02:49these are roasted. These are raw. I wouldn't recommend using roasted because they're going to go into the
02:55oven and then they're going to roast in there. So we got our walnuts. I also like to put a
03:00little extra
03:01sugar on the top just to get a little flavor pop. You know what I'm saying? And that's just a
03:07good
03:07solid pinch. A good thick boy pinch. Now we're going to get that oven popping at 375 degrees.
03:16We're going to set it for about 45 minutes and that's all she wrote. We're getting it preheated
03:23now. I'll check it back in about 15-20 minutes or so and just keep an eye on it until
03:28it's done.
03:33Guys you saw how easy the recipe was. We took about 45 minutes at 375 degrees and look how good
03:39this
03:39thing looks. It has a great toast on the outside. We got a little bit of a crust where we
03:44put that
03:44extra sugar. Let's go ahead and cut into this. Look at that. Look at that. It's thick. It's dense.
03:56It's got some spring to it. The only thing left to do now is try it. I'm a big fan
04:06of parquet.
04:07I'm going to be honest with you. So I'm going to parquet this bad boy. Let's give it a bite.
04:30Guys this is so good. It's basically like a moist delicious bread cake. It's thick. It's full of
04:36banana flavor. Those nuts give it like a nice little pop. Terry go to hell dude. Don't be a
04:42pervert you sick freak. And uh yeah dude it reminds me of waking up at my grandma's house
04:48on like Sunday morning and uh eating banana bread and some oatmeal man. It's just it's really just
04:54an unbeatable. It's delicious. I mean what else can you say? It's amazing. Guys if you're into it
05:02we'll do more stuff like this. But next week we'll be back with our standard grill fare my friends.
05:06We're going to bring it back to what you're familiar with. But I hope you enjoyed this little
05:10detour from our path. Make sure you check out skullandmortar.com. I got t-shirts. I got sauces
05:14rubs all that stuff. Everything goes to supporting the channel and any links down below. Go ahead and
