00:00The opening night against Boston, we have 12 days.
00:05We have four exhibition games and two days off built into those 12 days.
00:10So if you take away that time, we essentially have 10 practices,
00:16six when they're not including a game that night.
00:21So time is of the essence.
00:23We thought long and hard about this going through our coaches meetings a month or so ago
00:28and building this thing out and what we thought made the most sense.
00:33So we're going to get after the team concept right away,
00:38start to instill concepts from day one starting tomorrow,
00:43and then still try to accomplish what we always try to accomplish in training camp,
00:46and that is to get the team ready for game one
00:49and provide opportunities for people to show what they can do.
00:53It forces all of us to have to prioritize what we do every day.
01:02And as a part of that, I think just in the conversations that we had with Chris and his staff
01:09and my coaching staff and trying to put our heads together to put this whole thing together,
01:16you know, it forces all of us to prioritize.
01:19And I just think, you know, the players that are here are the guys that are the closest to playing
01:25for the New York Rangers.
01:27And so from that standpoint, and it's a necessity just because of the time constraints.
01:34What's the level of pressure that you feel to get this thing turned around quickly?
01:37Well, we're excited with the moves we made.
01:39We said that in, you know, June and July when we last spoke.
01:43And, you know, I think we addressed a lot of things in the offseason.
01:46You know, we had a number of boxes run at the check.
01:49We looked at a lot of different things, my staff, Sully's staff, Sully and I.
01:53And I feel like we're in a pretty good spot to get off to a good start.
01:56A lot of changes, a lot of excitement in the building, not just, you know, on Ranger acquisitions,
02:01but prospects that are here trying to put the best foot forward.
02:04So I'm excited about what we've done and where we're at and ready to get going.
