00:02It started a while ago, my wife had the idea to explore like young onset Parkinson's disease
00:09and like what it's like to live with it and that kind of thing.
00:14Like it's not my like normal subject matter.
00:19Yeah, it wasn't exactly like fun painting some of these darker subjects
00:25but I didn't want to shy away from it either.
00:28The one behind you called Monster, can you talk about that one a little bit?
00:32My little newborn like, well sorry not newborn, he's nearly two now
00:36but he can't understand, we can't explain to him that Dad's got Parkinson's.
00:44So the painting, yeah it's just how I feel about myself sometimes.
00:49You know you feel like a bit of a monster like scaring your little kid
00:55but it's something that I know as he grows up and we can explain to him, yeah he's not going
01:03to be scared or think I'm a monster hopefully.
01:06It's definitely a brave exhibition and undertaking.
01:09How does it feel having presented it to the public and showing so much rawness and vulnerability.
01:17One lady sent me a message saying she had just been diagnosed and she hasn't even gone public with it
01:23yet.
01:24And she's an artist, yeah and she's like giving me support and saying that I'm brave and I'm like dude
01:33you're brave.
01:35I think like I've got like a big drive to continue creating as much as possible now.
01:43You know like something like a diagnosis like this, yeah it just makes you, yeah you know life's fragile
01:50and you never know what's going to happen so I'm just going hard at it, yeah.
01:55And trying to, yeah inspire others as well and with my heart.
