00:00To shine a light on what is happening in Cuba, because Cuba is a country that is now strangled.
00:06in addition to the 65-year embargo imposed by the United States, also by a further blockade imposed by Donald Trump.
00:16This blockade is on oil, on fuel and this has terrible consequences for the entire civilian population.
00:25So there is a collective punishment underway against a people.
00:30Now we cannot remain idly by in the face of the fact that there are those who have decided to extinguish a
00:37people
00:38just to get revenge on a system of government that he doesn't agree with.
00:44There is diplomacy, there is politics, if this idea gets through, then anything becomes possible.
00:51For this reason a delegation, including six deputies and self-deputies of the Democratic Party,
00:58will support this initiative, because we are against this embargo, we are against this latest blockade,
01:05because we believe that Cuba is not a threat, that it is not a country that produces terrorism,
01:11because we believe it is scandalous to keep aid out of Cuba
01:15when there is help waiting that has been diverted.
01:21And we consider all this something cruel, a policy of cruelty.
01:26which we fully contest and which we want to relaunch another way of doing politics.
01:33Because if it is true that respect for human rights is fundamental
01:37and if it is true that we are always on the side of human rights and democracy,
01:41We also know that democracy cannot be imposed, it cannot be exported.
01:47And then we will have a dialogue with the Cuban people,
01:50let's also try to talk with the Cuban institutions to make some changes,
01:57but do not use force, because force will not achieve the desired result.
02:03And so for this reason we wholeheartedly support this visit which begins on the 23rd and for us will end on the 28th.
