00:18From this angle it looks like a clear foul but when you look at it from another angle
00:21you can see that Brown creates the contact when his arm is straight and then he folds it.
00:25That means he's not pushing forward but rather folding his arm and sliding it across Washington's back
00:29right as he jumps for the shot.
00:30Is it a foul according to the letter of the law? Probably yes because there is contact on the back
00:34but there are a lot of fouls that technically aren't called during the game.
00:37We're just seeing this in slow motion but there's something that I think people are even more mistaken about
00:41and that's the contact between Derek White and Washington's hand.
00:44What I think a lot of people are missing here is the fact that when you make contact with the
00:47player's hand
00:48as he's going up for a dunk the palm is considered part of the ball.
00:52That's why he only touches him here on the palm, not on the wrist and that's not a foul.
