00:00I know you've talked about this a lot, but as you were making the decision to go into the Hall
00:03of Fame as a Met,
00:04what things stood out to you?
00:06And now that you've talked about it all summer, what do you think about when you think about your time
00:10here?
00:10Well, for me, I would say it was my best year in baseball,
00:14even though at times it felt difficult and it felt different,
00:18meaning like, you know, my relationship, you know,
00:22and sometimes how things went down on, I don't know, the message that was sent out.
00:30About me as a person or me or me as a player.
00:33It's hard to connect with a fan base when the message out there is always negative.
00:37But being honest and having the experience to play for the Mets,
00:42I felt like playing in this organization.
00:44I really, like I say, in my speech in Hall of Fame, I grew the most as a person, as
00:49a leader.
00:50So I'm grateful for that.
00:51I'm grateful for the relationships that I was able to build in the clubhouse with the players.
00:56You know, the other day somebody asked me, like,
00:58what are you proud the most about playing in New York?
01:00I say, the relationships that I built, you know, those are the ones that I still have,
01:05the friendships that I still have with the teammates that I play.
01:08Because at the end of the day, the game of baseball will end up, you know,
01:11and you're not going to be able to play anymore.
01:12But keeping those relationships has really been incredible and amazing for us.
