00:01Craig, 0-0 draw against an in-form Kiddie Minster side to extend your unbeaten run to three in the
00:05league and four in all comps.
00:07It felt like you had most of the territory and pressure there today, so thoughts on that?
00:12Yeah, hitting the nail on the head there, I felt we dominated large parts of that game.
00:17We knew that Kiddie are coming into this full of confidence, they were on a good unbeaten run themselves.
00:23But we didn't give them anything, we dominated large parts of it in terms of territory and pressure.
00:31We just didn't find that little bit of quality or that little bit of moment of magic in the final
00:38third.
00:39So it was always going to be a tight game that was won on a bit of quality or a
00:44mistake or a set piece.
00:46We had some great deliveries on set pieces that we disappointed that we've not made the most of
00:51because that can be the difference in games like this today.
00:54So something we learned from that, something we have to get better on.
00:58But overall in the performance, delighted with the lads' effort and I said to come here
01:04and obviously dominate a team that's in good form as well is pleasing.
01:08Jake Foster-Cassie, a couple of really good deliveries from corners, finding Chin at the back post, weren't they?
01:13Obviously he couldn't quite get them on target.
01:15Yeah, Cass got great delivery, Chin's a beast in the air, anyone will find it difficult to mark him.
01:21So we have to utilise that and dominate those moments more consistently
01:26and with more quality and focus on that final last little bit of it that's putting the ball in the
01:32net.
01:32So yeah, lots of things for us to work on but we're fully aware of that.
01:36You had the three best chances in the game.
01:38First half, John Marquis, the one saved.
01:40Then Matt Ward, the one where he's tried to chip the keeper.
01:43And then the one at the end for John is obviously quite tough with the balls coming back up on
01:47the half volley.
01:48I believe it's the three best chances in the game.
01:49Yeah, that's it.
01:50Like I said, we didn't really give them anything.
01:52I don't remember Will having any sort of save to make of note.
01:57We had a couple of half chances.
02:01Like I said, the one there with John in the second half, it's a difficult one
02:05because it's sort of rising, you have to meet on the up and it's difficult to keep down.
02:11And you know, Ward has won the first half, obviously see what he's tried.
02:15But again, it's a pretty moment where you look back and go,
02:19oh, could he take a touch and draw the keeper in?
02:21Or probably square it across to John, I think, and Aidan were arriving in Legault as well at the time.
02:25So yeah, that was probably the only bit we needed to improve on today
02:29is just our sort of decision making in the final third.
02:31Like there's a couple of moments at the end there where we've tried to have a shot from distance
02:35where we just need to stay calm, stay patient, trusting what we're doing and keep working it
02:40and not get carried away in the sort of emotion where we have to score right now
02:44because if we do what we do, we'll create opportunities.
02:48I assume you would have been sort of fairly happy at half-time in terms of, you know,
02:51having the territory and the pressure ball. Was the message sort of going into the second half?
02:54Yeah, we said at half-time we needed to win the first 15 minutes at the half,
02:59which I thought were both halves and I thought we did that.
03:04Yeah, we needed to keep stepping onto them, keep, you know, our press was good, it was working.
03:09We didn't let them get out for a team who sort of want to try and play and dominate the
03:13ball.
03:14We didn't give them the opportunity to do that.
03:16Yeah, we just needed to, like I said, focus on that little bit of quality in the final third.
03:21Like I say, you know, you managed to keep Kitty very quiet today.
03:25So, you know, defensively solid and a clean sheet, you know, that's obviously another sort of pleasing aspect to it,
03:29isn't it?
03:29Yeah, it gives us a platform to go and be successful from, you know,
03:34we're not giving up many opportunities at the moment.
03:37So the lads probably have deserved a clean sheet with all their work.
03:41Like we spoke about yesterday, it's kind of, you know, disappointed that we haven't got a clean sheet yet.
03:46And, you know, that's got to be our focus for these next sort of locker games.
03:51You know, if we give ourselves that platform, we know we're creating chances.
03:55We know we've got lads in the team and the squad who can make a difference and score goals.
04:01And, you know, if we give ourselves that platform to do that from, then, you know, we'll be on to
04:07a good thing.
04:08Plenty of solid performances today.
04:10Jaden Puttman got the man of the match.
04:11Thoughts on his display?
04:13Yeah, look, Jaden's been, you know, great since he's come in.
04:16He's obviously waited a little while for his opportunity.
04:18He's taken a look at both hands.
04:20He's tenacious.
04:21He's, like, a little bit ratty.
04:23He, you know, for his size and stature, nothing sort of phases him, which is brilliant.
04:29Love that about him.
04:30And, you know, then he wants to bomb forward and get on the overlap and he delivers with quality as
04:35well, like we saw on Tuesday night for the goal for Kel.
04:39So, yeah, look, he's been really, really good.
04:41Obviously, lots of good performances out there today.
04:43You know, to a man, can't fault anyone.
04:46Yeah, so, yeah, pleased with him and the team.
04:50Yeah, three unbeaten in the league, four in all comps, a five-point week.
04:53I mean, seven points would have been absolutely superb, but five points is a very good week, isn't it?
04:57Yeah, that's it. We, again, said yesterday that seven points would make this a very, very good week.
05:02It's still a good week. It's still unbeaten.
05:04We're starting to, you know, now build momentum.
05:07Like you said, they're three unbeaten in the league.
05:09When you start getting to, you know, threes, fours, fives, sixes, like, unbeaten runs, you know, it breeds confidence.
05:16It breeds belief.
05:18That's got to be our, you know, our objective for the next group of the games coming up.
05:23Yeah, Todd Johnson over, obviously, last Saturday and Tuesday.
05:25I'm sure you feel the support from him, but just, you know, see him in person and, obviously, yeah, and
05:29just sort of catch up with him.
05:31Yeah, yeah, it's great to see him.
05:33Yeah, it's nice for him to come over and, obviously, two good results as well.
05:37But, you know, to get, I know he's always tuned into the games back at home.
05:42So, for him to be here, to feel it, to see it, you know, to see that we're moving in
05:48a real positive direction.
05:49And, yeah, it was great. So, yeah, great to see him as well.
05:53Obviously, you've got a whole week now to prepare for what will be a long trip to Carlisle, won't it?
05:56Yeah, yeah, that's it. You know, wrestling recovering, coming back next week fully focused to, you know, learn the lesson
06:04today.
06:05But then we look forward to that game very, very quickly.
06:08And, you know, we go there with, you know, a belief and a confidence and, you know, we'll go and
06:12attack any team in this league.
06:13And when we do that, we look very dangerous and, you know, teams find it very, very difficult to live
06:19with.
06:19So, that will be our full intention for Carlisle away next week.
