00:00Hello everyone, my name is William Chambers. It is good to be doing Bible study with you guys today.
00:06I so love it, you guys just don't know. That being said, if I had a title for today's message,
00:12I would call it, You're Carrying Too Much. God Never Meant It To Be That Way.
00:20Hey, are you carrying too much? Some people are tired, not because life is heavy,
00:29but because they are carrying things God never asked them to hold.
00:35We hold on to things because we think by holding on to them, it gives us some kind of control
00:42over it.
00:43But in reality, when we hold on to things that we were never designed to hold,
00:49it only brings anxiety unto us. Cast all your cares upon Him, for He careth for you.
00:59Oh, it's telling us to cast our cares upon God Himself. This is a command, not a suggestion, a command
01:06to release.
01:08This is telling us that this is a conscious decision that we must have.
01:12We must say, I will not carry this anymore, whatever's stressing us out.
01:19We must say, I will not rehearse these burdens again.
01:23I will not worry about these things again.
01:28We're talking about releasing them unto God.
01:31I will not keep trying to control the outcome.
01:34I want to control how this thing goes,
01:36and I will not keep doing that because I'm going to cast my cares upon Him.
01:42I'm going to let Him do it.
01:43So how do we cast our cares upon Him?
01:46We hold on to cares because we want to control things, but we got to let go of it.
01:52It turns out the way it turns out.
01:54I'm going to put it in God's hand.
01:55I won't keep picking it up.
01:56I won't keep thinking about that thing.
01:57That's where our stress is coming from.
01:59We replace situations in our mind over and over again.
02:03We analyze how it might turn out this way, how it might turn out that way.
02:08We try to understand it.
02:10We try to solve what only God can handle, and that's where our stress comes from.
02:17Our text says, cast it over to God.
02:20When we cast things over to God, what we're saying within ourselves,
02:27and what we should remind ourselves is,
02:29I release my right to control this situation.
02:34I release my need to understand this situation.
02:39I release the timeline that I have to fix it.
02:45Oh, I release all control.
02:46It fixes whenever it gets fixed, and I don't have to understand it.
02:52If we would only do that, we would have less stress.
02:57If we cast our cares on God, that means peace.
03:02But if we don't cast our cares, it settles in our thoughts.
03:06Our cares, our worries become anxiety.
03:09Our cares, our worries become stress.
03:12Our cares, our worries, set in our spirit as heaviness.
03:17Oh, I need to let go of some things.
03:19So this text is telling us that we need to transfer our burdens to God.
03:25Many people express their worries.
03:27They talk about them.
03:29Many people pray about their worries.
03:32Some people cry over their worries.
03:34But that is not transferring ownership.
03:38You're crying over it, but you want to keep picking that thing back up.
03:41Help us have mercy today.
03:44We try to shift the burden instead of casting it.
03:47Sometimes we even try to shift the burden that we have.
03:51Shift it to other people, and we end up overwhelming them.
03:55What you carry in sometimes is just too much for men.
03:58Too much for other women.
04:00We try to distract ourselves, but the weight still remains.
04:06It's just in the background somewhere.
04:07Or we try to suppress it, whatever we try to suppress it with.
04:12But it resurfaces over time.
04:16The Bible is saying that that's not transferring.
04:19We are to cast our cares unto him.
04:23Transferring it unto him.
04:25And this sounds unnatural because it is unnatural.
04:28It sounds like if I did that, I'm not responsible.
04:31But if we don't do this, we're not obedient and we're not trusting.
04:37Casting our cares is not tossing them carelessly.
04:42Casting our cares is handing something valuable.
04:46This thing is valuable to me, God.
04:49And handing it to God, the one that we trust.
04:55Cast your cares upon him.
04:57This is valuable to me, God.
04:59It's stressing me out.
05:01But I cast this unto you.
05:04As I said earlier, once we truly place our burdens and cares in God's hands, we let go of the
05:11outcome.
05:11It doesn't matter how it goes, Lord.
05:13That is your job.
05:14That is your responsibility.
05:16I'm letting go of the timing.
05:17It doesn't have to be in my timing, God.
05:19We got to repeat these things to ourselves.
05:21And, Lord, I let go of the method.
05:24It don't have to be the method in which I would do it in, God.
05:28I let you control it all.
05:30I'll have no control.
05:31I place it in your hands.
05:35Help us not to be carrying things that only God was meant to carry.
05:40Then this text tells us why we should let it go.
05:43Why we should cast our cares.
05:45It says, for he cares for you.
05:49This text is telling us the reason that we need to let it go is because God cares for us.
05:55God is asking you to let go because your problems matter to him.
06:01God says, your problems matter to me more than it matters to you.
06:05Lord.
06:06God said, I'm attentive to your cares.
06:09I'm willing to deal with them.
06:10And I am capable.
06:14Help us to trust you, God.
06:15God, the situation you can't fix, God is saying, it's on my radar.
06:20I already know about it.
06:22Oh, you think I don't know, but I already know about it.
06:24I'm attentive to your burdens.
06:29Oh, Lord.
06:30He says, I care for you.
06:32Caring.
06:33Care means I have ongoing care.
06:36I care.
06:36I got ongoing care without interruptions.
06:40My care is never stopping.
06:42It's never ceasing.
06:44I always care for you.
06:46Even when you feel like I've forgotten about you, I care.
06:49Even when it looks like nothing's changing, I care for you.
06:54Cast your cares on me for I care.
06:58We sometimes think that we care more than anybody else.
07:01But God's level of care exceeds our care.
07:07Oh, I need to cast this on to you, God.
07:09God, we are limited.
07:12We see things, parts of things, pieces of things.
07:15And we worry about outcomes.
07:18But God is unlimited.
07:20He don't see pieces and parts.
07:21He sees the whole situation.
07:24And he governs outcomes.
07:26He's not wary like we are about outcomes.
07:28God is governing outcomes.
07:31You holding on to your burdens is not making things go any better.
07:38God says, you holding on to that, I ain't making things go better.
07:42Hand it over to me.
07:44Let go.
07:45I want you to let go of it because I am faithful.
07:48Don't carry what I am already caring for.
07:52We need to rehearse things like, God, I will not carry this thought anymore.
07:59God, I release this unto you.
08:02I won't worry about this again.
08:04We need to rehearse, God, I will not keep trying to control the outcome of this.
08:09It's in your hands over and over.
08:11Because sometimes we tend to try to pick that thing back up.
08:15Help us, oh God.
08:16We are in need of you.
08:18In Jesus' name we pray and say, amen.
08:46We are in need of you.
08:48We are in need of you.
08:49We are in need of you.
08:50We are in need of you.
08:50We are in need of you.
08:50We are in need of you.
08:50You
