00:48Hello, welcome from the South. I'm Luis Alberto Matos from Delezo Studios in Caracas, Venezuela. We begin with the news.
01:08Venezuelan acting President del Chordugas arrived on Monday in the United States to represent the Bolivarian Republic at the 81st
01:14session of the United Nations General Assembly.
01:16Headed for the UN headquarters in New York, the Venezuelan delegation will address heads of states from 193 nations to
01:23defend national self-determination and reject unilateral coercive measures.
01:27The 81st UN General Assembly will have a special focus on international multilateral development amid a complex geopolitical scenario marked
01:35by numerous conflicts.
01:36These events also come as Venezuela is moving forward amid rebuilding efforts following the June 24 earthquakes as part of
01:43the government's Venezuela Rises Plan and the acting President's diplomatic efforts to enhance international relations for Venezuela on the basis
01:50of respect for international law and safeguarding the country's sovereignty.
01:54Beyond her high-level UN address, Acting President Rodriguez maintains an intensive bilateral work agenda to strengthen cooperation across the
02:01globe south.
02:10And Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez held a meeting with Cubans residing in the United States ahead of the UN 81st
02:17General Assembly.
02:18The official stated, through his social media accounts, we participated in the national meeting of Cubans residing in the U
02:25.S. as part of our participation in the general debate of the high-level segment of the 81st session of
02:31the UN General Assembly.
02:32I highlighted the important work carried out by our country to achieve greater engagement and integration in national life for
02:39our competitors who reside or stay for extended periods outside of Cuba, as well as their descendants.
02:44We emphasize the escalation of U.S. aggression against Cuba, the collective punishment imposed on the Cuban people, and the
02:50ruthless impact this is having on families and the population as a whole.
02:55There is no way to justify social cruel crime.
03:05And in Brazil, the Brazilian intelligence agency revealed the United States' intention to interfere in the October 4th presidential elections
03:12to redirect Latin America's political and economic vision.
03:16The document warns of an increase in the level of risk and constitutes one of the most serious warnings about
03:22foreign interference in the region in recent years.
03:25It was sent confidentially to the presidency of the Republic, the Supreme Electoral Court, and the Ministry of Justice.
03:30Furthermore, the report notes that Washington aims to raise the risk level in the region and could lead to a
03:36breakdown in Brazil's relations with China, as well as trade tensions due to tariffs imposed on Brazilian products.
03:41This investigation follows the United States' designation of Brazilian criminal organizations as service groups and its announcement in July of
03:49sanctions against citizens and companies in Brazil and Portugal.
03:57And in this context, Brazilian President Luis Ignacio Silva defended national sovereignty, as well as dialogue and peace among nations.
04:05On the way to New York, there once again I will have the honor and responsibility of representing Brazil and
04:12the Brazilian people at the United Nations General Assembly.
04:15We are a sovereign country with a strong economy that looks after its people and its wealth, a country that
04:20respects everyone and demands respect, and one that defends peace and dialogue among nations.
04:25This is the Brazil that will be presented on Tuesday at the UN opening ceremony.
04:29I wish Vice President Geraldo Admin all the best in his work as he will assume the presidency until our
04:34return.
04:45And high-level delegations from China and the United States held in-depth economic and trade consultations in New York
04:51seeking stability in global commerce.
04:53On Sunday, in New York, Chinese Vice Premier Hilly Fan led the Chinese delegation in talks with U.S. Treasury
04:59Secretary Scott Peasant and U.S. Trade Representative Jameson Greer.
05:04In his remarks, Vice Premier Hilly Fan emphasized mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and win-win cooperation to address bilateral economic
05:14friction.
05:14Discussions focused on implementing prior presidential agreements and establishing diplomatic dialogue frameworks on emerging artificial intelligence technologies.
05:23The talks reflect ongoing efforts to manage global economic relations amid broader disputes over technology controls and international trade policy.
05:40In this context, the spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Guo Jia-kun, provided details about the state
05:46visit that Chinese President Xi Jinping will make to the U.S. from September 23rd to the 25th at the
05:52invitation of President Donald Trump.
05:55At the invitation of U.S. President Trump, President Xi Jinping will pay a state visit to the United States.
06:01During the visit, President Xi Jinping and President Trump will have in-depth exchange of views on China, U.S.
06:08relations, and major issues concerning world peace and development.
06:11Head of state diplomacy plays an irreplaceable role in providing strategic guidance to China-U.S. relations.
06:17The exchange of visits between the leaders of the two countries within half a year is of historic and milestone
06:23significance.
06:24China is willing to work with the United States to enrich the substance of the constructive China.
06:29U.S. relationship of strategic stability.
06:32Strengthen dialogue and cooperation.
06:35Properly manage differences.
06:36Deliver more benefits to the people of the two countries.
06:39And promote world peace, stability, and prosperity.
06:45And protests erupted in North Austin after a U.S. ICE officer shot and seriously wounded 28-year-old Venezuela
06:51national Wilbur Rafael Garces during a traffic stop.
06:55Local authorities confirmed city police were not involved in the shooting, while the victim's family reported he was taken into
07:00ICE custody shortly after hospital treatment.
07:02Austin officials and federal lawmakers are demanding a full independent local investigation, rejecting calls for ICE to investigate its own
07:11officers.
07:11The shooting comes amid a sharp nationwide surge in federal immigration rates, fearing growing public outrage over lethal enforcement tactics.

07:48Guatemala's transportation operators warned that the fuel subsidy would cover less than 100 days' worth of diesel as provided for
07:55in Decree 21-2026.
07:57The transportation sector is calling on the government to fully implement the decree and establish transparent controls to prevent price
08:03abuse and speculation.
08:06Transportation operators proposed creating a permanent fund to stabilize the crisis as the pressure could directly affect families, food, and
08:14items that have the greatest impact on monthly expenses.
08:18Guatemala's major freight transportation trade association stated that the sector is facing a crisis due to the steady increase in
08:25fuel prices since Dec. 2025.
08:34A Peruvian journalist and candidate for the regional government of the socio-sport and cash movement was killed Saturday in
08:41a market in the Andean city of Caracas during an electoral campaign tour.
08:44According to local media, Susie Aponte was attacked by an alleged hitman who shot her in the head and wounded
08:51several people accompanying her.
08:53Peru's National Police reported the arrest of an armed man as a suspect in the shooting.
08:58In recent days, Aponte had accused the director of criminal investigation of Peru's National Police, General Victor Rebordedo, of allegedly
09:07having ordered an attack against her after she exposed links between police commanders and the criminal organization Los Pulpos.
09:13The Peruvian Press Council called for this act not to go unpunished as has happened with other episodes of aggression
09:19against journalists.
09:29In Ecuador, the curfew remains in place in several provinces as human rights organizations warned about the deterioration of democratic
09:35guarantees.
09:36The mobility restriction has been enforced on September 17 between midnight and 5 a.m. local time in Guayas, Manavín,
09:43Los Ríos and El Oro, coastal provinces of Ecuador that concentrate the country's main hotspots of balance.
09:49According to authorities, during the first three days of the curfew, security forces carried out 258 operations and established 203
09:56checkpoints, in addition to six raids reporting the arrest of 289 people and tons of drugs seized.
10:02This is the third curfew decreed by President Leon Novoa during 2026 after similar measures applied in March and May.
10:09In this context, the international human rights organizations presented a report warning about the deterioration of democratic guarantees and the
10:15criminalization of civil society in Ecuador.
10:32In Ecuador, working-class communities in northern Quito have joined emergency crews to battle a re-ignited wildfire threatening their
10:39homes on Casitagua Hill.
10:43Neighborhoods in the Pomas Quay Parish organized emergency response teams with buckets and shovels to hold the fires advance across
10:50difficult terrain.
10:51The blaze has already consumed around 300 hectares of forest, leading Quito Mayor Pavel Muñoz to condemn intentional burnings as
11:00environmental crimes.
11:01Over 100 firefighters, military units and specialized air support continue working on multiple flanks as residents demand expanded state machinery
11:09to protect vulnerable communities.
11:18We from the neighborhood have been here since last night.
11:21We residents have been trying to mitigate the fire, but unfortunately it is flaring up again, as you can see.
11:27Right now we do not have the authorities helping us.
11:30Perhaps it is because of access, because access here is very difficult.
11:34But as residents of the neighborhood, we are trying to do something because it is reaching our houses.
11:39Please help us.
11:45I am a resident of the San Rafael Alugula neighborhood, where we have this problem of the fire on Casitagua
11:53Mountain.
11:53Since last night, residents joined together to try to control this fire.
11:57It seemed it was already under control, but in the early hours it started again.
12:04We have help from the helicopters, but it is not enough.
12:07It is not enough because there are already three mountains burning simultaneously,
12:13and we need people to help us with water, with machinery, perhaps one more helicopter.
12:17Things are tough.

12:31with widespread flooding and landslides across eastern Japan.
12:34The severe weather season forced the cancellation of hundreds of domestic and international flights,
12:38disrupting travel networks and surrounding thousands of passengers.
12:41High winds have knocked out electrical power to thousands of households in Chiba,
12:47while forcing the early closure of major public events, including Tokyo's International Gaming Fair.
12:51Local authorities and emergency personnel remain on high alert,
12:55as extreme weather conditions test urban infrastructure and public response systems.
13:07Another topic is a devastating mesos outbreak in Bangladesh has claimed over a thousand lives
13:11with nearly 180,000 suspected cases of roaming patriotic hospitals.
13:17Young children are bearing the brunt of the crisis as severe public health constraints
13:22and remote coverage gaps fuel rapid community transmission.
13:25Although it is linked the epidemic to systemic immunization disruptions,
13:28including a critical nationwide vaccine stock-out that left millions of children vulnerable.
13:33While state agencies and international partners mobilize emergency drives targeting 20 million children,
13:38public hospitals remain under severe pressure.
13:45Although vaccination programs are ongoing nationwide to prevent measles infections,
13:51many children in remote areas are not covered.
13:55A significant number of children are excluded from vaccination,
14:00which may have led to additional measles infections in these areas.
14:06Since measles is a highly contagious disease,
14:10the overall number of patients has increased as new children become infected.

15:49leaving stranded asylum seekers behind on the shore.
15:52Footage from gate lines near Calais shows a heavy-loaded dinghy pulling away in the dark,
15:58forcing at least one person to remain stranded in the water,
16:02trapped between hostile European border policies and illicit trafficking networks.
16:06Thousands of vulnerable asylum seekers risked their lives crossing the Treasurer's English Channel.

16:31In the Spanish enclave of Ceuta, anti-migrant protesters clashed with police and attacked humanitarian workers delivering aid for refugees.
16:40Police fired shots into the air to disperse violent crowds after protesters surrounded and shook a vehicle carrying eight activists,
16:48Rafael Borrego, and local lawmaker Julia Ferreras.
16:52The violent disruption targeted the arrival of humanitarian group Derecho Atecho,
16:56which traveled to Ceuta to support displaced migrants.
16:58The incident follows marches towards the Tadahal border demanding militarized enforcement highlighting the sharp rise in far-right xenophobia against
17:06vulnerable asylum seekers crossing from North Africa.

17:35capped the number of foreign students allowed in a single classroom,
17:38and required parents of foreign students struggling to integrate to learn Italian.
17:42Malone framed the measures as an integration push ahead of a general election due by December 2027.
17:48However, critics highlight that Muslims only make up an estimated 4.6% of Italy's population,
17:54and foreign residents overall account for roughly 9.1 to 9.4% of Italy's population,
18:00one of the most recent national statistics.

18:42Local media further reported that the strikes were part of a broader series of attacks on Al Jauf,
18:47with Saudi warplanes also carrying out two airstrikes targeting the Almaton district complex.
18:52This comes after Yemeni Armed Forces spokesperson Brigadier General Jayasari said on Sunday evening
18:57that Saudi warplanes had carried out 28 airstrikes on Thais, Al Jauf and Marib over the previous 24 hours.
19:09And cities in southern Lebanon have reported on Monday a new attack by the Israeli army
19:13as part of ongoing violations of the ceasefire.
19:16The cities of Sikhin al-Mansuri and Mahdalsun were targeted by airstrikes by the Sianese army,

19:34In a border strip where tensions remain high and civilians continue to be displaced.
19:46And a massive explosion at a Syrian army ammunition depot lit up the night sky near Al Ais,
19:53south of Aleppo, to gain a series of heavy secondary blasts.

20:01where initial reports indicate an accidental detonation.
20:05Syrian state media reports no official casualty figures yet,
