00:04The Twilight Walk is Eleanor's biggest event of the year where partners and the
00:12community turn up to paint the streets orange. This year around 15,000 people
00:19took part and walked around eight kilometres across Gravesend to raise
00:26money for the charity which supports people with serious illnesses.
00:31So we also want to thank the volunteers for coming out tonight and helping us with this event.
00:36It really enables us to man the roads and do all the remarkable things throughout the
00:42Twilight Walk so we're enormously grateful to all of the volunteers for their support
00:47and time on this special night. Well it's pouring it down here in Gravesend tonight
00:52but it certainly hasn't stopped all these people from turning up and supporting Eleanor
00:58in his charity Twilight Walk. For many people here this event has a deep personal connection
01:07because of friends and family. The hospice looked after my mum back in 2004
01:12and we couldn't have got through that we couldn't have got through it without them
01:16so yeah absolutely phenomenal so we go and visit all the staff patients and their families.
01:23So suddenly I lost my brother to prostate cancer a month before I was elected however I continue
01:32doing what I need to do in the community and realising how supportive the Eleanor model is.
01:42KMFN's presenter Numi has even taken part this year despite the fact that she broke her ankle
01:50in three different places just five months ago. Yeah I'm a little bit nervous this will be the
01:56furthest that I've walked since April and breaking my ankle but I've been working really hard on my
02:01physio and getting ready for today so I'm just going to give it my absolute best and see how we
02:06do.
02:07Money raised from the event will be going towards paying the nurses of Eleanor as well as all the care
