00:00Saw Genesis might be one of the only asymmetrical horror games to go up against Dead by Daylight
00:05and survive. Saw Genesis makes a historical analysis of misguided evil and brings us to
00:11World War 1. There, Jigsaw's forefather, the Judge, is habitually forcing three accused into
00:17seemingly unconquerable situations involving clamps, barbed wire, and even the infamous reverse
00:23bear trap from the movies, which separates your jaw from the rest of your body like you're an
00:28easy to peel orange. Since the Saw Genesis footage I'm shown is so early, my main conclusion is that
00:35this is a smart game. It borrows aspects from Dead by Daylight and the Outlast Trials to its own
00:41advantage. Saw Genesis borrows the Outlast Trials' vintage touches and its roster of accused characters
00:47are carefully designed with gothic horror in mind. Meanwhile, the Judge reminds me of Dead by Daylight's
00:53inaugural killer, the Trapper. Both are like deranged animal control employees armed with
00:58rusty bear traps. Though, in a unique twist from its competitors, Saw Genesis makes the Judge
01:04physically vulnerable, and players can stab him to hell if they plan correctly. I can't wait to see
01:10more of this game and I need to play it immediately.
