Scotiabank, the FC Barcelona Foundation and the Can Bou Play Foundation have collaborated to launch the 'Peace of Mind' initiative, a youth mental-health and social-development programme.

00:00The Peace of Mind program uses sport to reach, support and empower young people.
00:06The program, which is a collaboration between Scotiabank, the FC Barcelona Foundation and the CanBoo Play Foundation,
00:13is designed for adolescents aged 13 through 17 from communities facing social and economic challenges in the Port of Spain
00:21area.
00:21And it consists of sport sessions where participants can work on and learn about mental health, emotional well-being, mentorship,
00:30financial literacy, inclusion, leadership and life skills development.
00:36The CanBoo Play Foundation will lead local implementation through its grassroots experience and deep-rooted community relationships,
00:43while the FC Barcelona Foundation will provide technical support and enable the application of its SportNet methodology,
00:52which uses sport and physical activity as tools for social and personal development,
00:58while Scotiabank, through its Scotiarise Community Investment Commitment Initiative, is supporting the program through funding.

01:54Also commenting in the release, CanBoo Play Foundation founding members and current board leaders,

02:06This partnership represents a defining moment for youth development in Trinidad and Tobago and the wider region.
02:13Peace of Mind grew from a vision of using sport to respond meaningfully to the mental health
02:18and social development needs of our young people. It is not only about giving them opportunities to play
02:24and experience the benefits of sport. It is also about creating safe spaces where they can be heard,
02:30supported, challenged and equipped for life.
02:33The Peace of Mind program will be executed in the Port of Spain area with plans to expand in the
02:39future.
