00:18Today we have with us Mr. Satyabhad Satpathy and Mr. Rabina Sahu who are co-founders of Bonvi Aero.
00:25This is a deep tech startup company, they manufacture high-end drones that are used for logistics
00:38purpose and they have been manufacturing it for Indian Army.
00:44One of the very prestigious things they have won recently is that they have been selected
00:49by Genius NY New Work which is one of the five finalists for round 10 of Genius NY and there
01:01they will be like manufacture drones for US.
01:10So now we will have a talk or interview and we will know more about Bonvi Aero.
01:26Satyabhad Satyabhad I would like to know that what does Bonvi Aero selection is one of the
01:30five finalists of Genius NY New Work round 10 means for the company.
01:39Bonvi Aero is a startup from India and when we got selected in the Genius NY this gives us
01:54the opportunity to scale from Himalayas to the Alpachin mountain where you know the one of
02:03the world's highest mountainous ground and the highest payload that we have carried in
02:13one of the toughest battlefield is going to be scaled to another mountain and the toughest
02:20battlefield in the east of US.
02:22So how important is access to this US ecosystem like aerospace companies and drone industry?
02:31Yeah so see US is a market which is been very regulated even highly regulated and particularly
02:42in the defense sector there is you know as a startup when you scale like to the US the
02:51the there are different programs for the primes and the sub so you need to be well aware
02:57of the entire program that you know that runs in the US where we before you know getting
03:06selected in the Genius NY we were last year we were first selected by India to America accelerator
03:17program called I2A and this program had given us the opportunity to know you know we had interactions
03:26with Boeing, Lockheed Martins with you know with couple of you know primes who actually have
03:34lot of operational experiences with the US department of war and particularly then you know we had progressed
03:46to meet a lot of like US ecosystem owners which you know going to like continue further.
03:55Of course the investment ecosystem in US is also a very welcoming ecosystem for the defense tech
04:03like startups and the fact that we have our you know own investor coming from US Mr. Tim Draper
04:13who is very early backer to Bonvi and a big believer of what we are doing it for the Himalayas
04:19are
04:20going to definitely help us to scale in the US.
04:24Okay so by the end of this Genius NY program what are the milestones do you expect Bonvi to achieve?
04:32Yeah by end of the program see we are looking at a prototype which will go under validations
04:44like user validations and a lot of improvement that will take place on the product itself to ensure that
04:52the product is you know it is made for a global good the product can actually scale like globally
05:01such as in the international market of the US.
05:04So my next question to Abhinas you tell me Bonvi Aero says its drones have delivered plate loads to Indian
05:11army post several 19,000 feet including Umingla. So what did these milestones teach the company about
05:19real world high altitude logistics? So this highest altitude experiment that we did back in 2024
05:31was to understand the Himalaya so our objective was to deeply understand the Himalayan technology
05:42I mean that we we were supposed to develop but the more of Himalayan environmental condition how Himalaya
05:50faces us how we face Himalaya was the core objective of that experiment when we flew we faced a lot
05:58of
05:58challenges we faced the wind like coming to a certain speed of like 60 kmph 80 kmph sometimes it goes
06:06150 kmph
06:08and sometimes the snowfall comes all of sudden we don't know when it it is coming the gust is
06:18we say the devil's guest like they they come from nowhere so all these challenges is what we wanted
06:26to solve so this is where we took our drone and we flew in high altitude we understood the challenges
06:32that Himalaya faces and subsequently we developed the technology with keeping focus that we encounter
06:41each and every challenge that that we face in Himalaya
