00:00Yeah, we're sitting over, across, or right next to the Yamaha piano that was the main piano in my father's
00:12Musicland studios from 1971 to 1989 when it closed.
00:19And it's the only piano that was there and so that means it's been used by basically every famous rock
00:33and roller you could think of.
00:35You know, the Rolling Stones played on it, recorded on it, Jeff Lynne from ELO, Freddie Mercury, Queen, Freddie Mercury
00:44on his solo album, Led Zeppelin and jazz bands.
00:50Everyone used it in some sort or the other.
00:54Anyone who is anyone has sat there and played with it.
00:59A lot of them have recorded and others have just, you know, goofed off on it.
01:04So it's it's quite the piece.
01:06Yeah, no one really plays piano in my family too much.
01:11And just like all the other items, it would be great that someone else can cherish it and have the
01:22opportunity to own it and display it and honor it and so forth.
01:29It's it's like a lot of the pieces we have.
01:32It's just for us, you know, we're just parts of our home and we still have so many more memories
01:41and so many things that there are just certain items, special items where you thought, you know, they should just
01:48be out there and not in an equipment box stored away.
01:51You know, some people should have the opportunity to play this piano, own it or, you know, have the microphone
01:59on display or use it to record whatever they want to do.
02:02The piano was used during the recording of the Queen albums, The Game, Hot Space and The Works and was
02:10played by artists including Leonard Cohen, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Donna Summer and Brian Ferry.
02:16It is considered the most significant Mercury related artifacts to come at the market since the 2020 free sale of
02:24his personal collection and estimated to fetch between £200,000 and £400,000.
02:31The auction will also include a microphone used by Mercury and early drafts of his songwriting as part of the
02:3882 lot Reinhold Mac collection.
02:41You know, I just always enjoyed growing up and being around musicians and, you know, I became a musician because
02:49that just, you know, ingrained in me and that's like part of it, you know, just being around it and
02:57seeing people use these instruments and using that, yeah.
