00:09The transition to clean energy and collectively achieving environmental goals
00:14were on the agenda during the session.
00:16In this regard, Latvia emphasized the importance of international unity
00:21in addressing the effects of climate change.
00:24Global climate change does not have borders or citizenship.
00:29Different threats, the same lesson.
00:33None of us can face them alone.
00:37In this regard, Latvia reiterated the need for unity to confront the forces of nature,
00:43appealing to the principles of the United Nations Charter.
00:47And when we share the same boat, we need something that holds us together.
00:53And we already have it, the United Nations Charter.
00:57And it's principles.
00:59Furthermore, world leaders emphasized the need to address the impact of the war,
01:04hold the perpetrators accountable for the numerous civilian deaths,
01:08and urgently curb the warmongering policies of the United States and Israel.
01:12Our innocent people have been the targets of cowardly attacks and aggressions imposed upon our country.
01:24And we defended ourselves with utmost strength.
01:29America and Israel attacked us, equipped with the latest technology and weapons system.
01:33Israel is launching attacks against Syria.
01:38There have been 500 airstrikes, more than 1,200 incursions and 300 detentions.
01:48This is at odds with the orientation we're seeing at global level.
01:52It is reminiscent of an era that we thought it was long gone.
02:00On the second day of the 81st U.N. General Assembly,
02:04delegates agreed that wars and the climate crisis are destroying the global economy,
02:09disrupting trade, and forcing millions of people to flee their homes.
02:12In light of this, they demanded decisive action.
