00:00Hey guys, welcome back to the channel. If your WordPress website is suddenly showing a
00:05not secure warning and your free SSL certificate has expired, don't worry at all. In today's video,
00:12we'll walk step by step through how to regenerate and install a 100% free Let's Encrypt SSL
00:18certificate using the really simple security plugin and cPanel. So, without further ado,
00:24let's jump right onto the screen. First, head over to your WordPress dashboard.
00:28If you're installing SSL for the very first time, go to plugins, search for really simple security,
00:34install it, and activate it. Once activated, you'll see a security tab on the left sidebar.
00:39Go ahead and click on it. When the page opens, look at the top right corner and click on Let's
00:44Encrypt.
00:45Now, here's an important point. If you were already using an SSL certificate that just expired,
00:50you'll need to click the Reset Let's Encrypt button in the top right corner to generate a fresh one.
00:55But if this is your very first time setting it up, there's no need to reset. Just proceed directly.
01:00Since I'm renewing mine, I'll click Reset to clear out the expired certificate.
01:04Once reset, the wizard will guide you through basic verification checks.
01:08Go through System Status and General Settings and simply click Save and Continue.
01:12As soon as you reach the Generation tab, the plugin will connect to the Let's Encrypt server
01:17and generate a brand new CRT and private key for you. Once that's done,
01:21you'll be taken straight to the Installation screen. Here, you'll see three main boxes.
01:25First, Certificate. Second, Private Key. And third, Certificate Authority Bundle.
01:30Now we need to manually install these three inside cPanel. Keep this tab open and open your cPanel in
01:35a new tab. On your cPanel dashboard, scroll down to the Security section, open SSL slash TLS
01:41certificates, and click on the Installation tab at the top. From the Domain drop-down menu,
01:45select the domain where you want to install this SSL. Next, head back to the Plugin tab. Click
01:50Copy Content under the Certificate and paste it into the first box in cPanel. Follow the exact
01:55same step for the private key and the cab bundle, pasting each into its corresponding field. Once
02:00all three are pasted, scroll to the bottom of the page and hit Install Certificate. You'll get a
02:04confirmation that the certificate was installed successfully. Now, jump back to your WordPress
02:08dashboard tab and click Save and Continue at the bottom right. And just like that, your SSL is
02:12officially active. If your current browser tab still shows Not Secure, don't panic. Simply
02:17do a hard refresh using Ctrl plus F5 or open an incognito window and check your URL. You'll
02:22see that clean green padlock right there. That's the easiest and completely free way to install
02:27or renew an SSL certificate on your website. If you found this video helpful, make sure to
02:31hit that like button and subscribe to the channel. See you guys in the next video.
