Professor Attacked During Lecture Over Thales Defense Research!

Professor Damien Ernst was confronted during an energy-markets class at the University of Liège on September 24, 2026. Several masked individuals entered the lecture and threw cream pies at him while shouting accusations related to his work with Thales.

The action was claimed by a group calling itself the “Vrai Comité (Populaire) d'Éthique de l'ULiège”, with anti-militarist groups supporting the action. ULiège confirmed its partnership with Thales, a €1 million, four-year research agreement focused on AI-assisted guidance and control technologies for next-generation munitions.
