00:00Akamai Technologies up 12 percent. It had been up 20 percent here in the pre-market.
00:04So this is the cloud provider. It inked a seven-year, $11.6 billion deal with Anthropic
00:10to provide computing power. So analysts say this deal should boost Akamai's growth and
00:16its profitability profile looks attractive. They say that's because this contract is entirely
00:21focused on CPUs, central processing units, in case I had to look that up. Apparently,
00:27that is better for margins than, say, GPUs. A number of analysts are very bullish on this deal.
00:33An analyst over at TD Cowan saying as long as industry-wide computer shortages remain,
00:38Akamai should be able to win more cloud infrastructure contracts. The stock is up 26 percent year-to-date.
00:44All right. Very good. Akamai. That was pitched to me 25 years ago as, hey, this is the plumbing for
00:50the internet. I was like, okay. And did we see Muse coming with Meta? I can't recall.
00:56I saw a research note saying Meta's going to explode in price.
01:00And bingo. It's having its best month in like over a decade.
01:03Unbelievable. Got another one?
01:05I most certainly do. People. Now, we talked about this yesterday,
01:08and now it's all like flip-flopped. So People, Inc., up 10 percent here. This is Barry Diller's
01:14company. On word that MGM Resorts is thinking about making a bid for people. Remember, it's not just
01:20People Magazine. They own Food & Wine, Southern Living Magazine. They have stakes in other companies as
01:24well. Now, People owns about a 27 percent stake in MGM. And initially, Barry Diller was interested
01:32in making a bid for MGM. And then yesterday said, we're not going to do that. He said the mix
01:37is not
01:37coming together. Those were his words. But he said he was still open to a strategic transaction. So
01:43this may be it. Some analysts are saying a deal for people could potentially be a way for MGM to
01:48buy
01:48back a large share, a chunk of its stock while getting some other assets. They think they could
01:54do this at an attractive price. But we don't know. No money is being talked about at the moment.
01:58Yeah. This is I think it's just investment bankers looking for fees. They didn't get paid
02:02yesterday. So let's try to turn it around.
02:04They're like, how can we make this work? Exactly.
02:05And I want to say that they believe both people and MGM are undervalued. So we'll see what happens.
02:10Yep.
02:10All right. And then Costco. Now, this is interesting because the stock reaction is sort of muted. Shares of
02:14Costco were down one percent here, even though it reported higher profit and rising sales in the
02:20fourth quarter, citing again, resilient consumer spending undeterred by sticky inflation. Also got
02:27a U.S. tariff refund of nearly $200 million. So it put that to work. Price cutting its Kirkland
02:33signature store brand. Also, a run up in gas prices helped to boost the value of Costco's gas offerings,
02:40which we know they can they get a better deal than almost anybody.
02:43I mean, they're rocking. I mean, yeah, they're what a success. Yeah.
02:48But have you ever seen Lisa Mateo there? The two of you, you know, can I just tell you of
02:52you and
02:52aisle five would be a tear. I used to do Costco. I don't anymore. I don't know. The stuff goes
02:58bad.
02:58I can't go through the bulk as quickly as I should. How many freezers do you have at home?
03:02I have two. I do have two freezers. Two freezers in Manhattan. Wow. No, no. Oh,
03:07this is the one. Yeah. Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania. Okay. I love it. Yes. Yeah. No third home. But
03:14Costco analysts are saying Costco stock is priced for more good news at roughly 40 times forward
03:20earnings. And that could be why we're down about 1% right now. Okay. Is that it or do you
03:25have one
03:25more? I have one more. Squeeze. Squeeze. A Swedish pharma company called Nanexa. It is up 50%.
03:31Why? Because Novo Nordisk, which makes Ozemba,
