00:00There I think it applies, but it's just there's a human being on a team
00:03who I've seen to be a stud, and now maybe he's going to get on the field,
00:06and you guys will all see that he's a stud.
00:08Like, I don't think there's a...
00:08Stud in context.
00:11Stud in context, I think.
00:13You need to re-earn stud status.
00:16All right, WGR tailgate party this weekend at Wings Flights of Hope,
00:20getting ready for Bill's Chargers.
00:23You park for $30, proceeds benefit Wings Flights of Hope.
00:26They provide free flights for seriously ill patients, music, food, beverages,

00:34Partners, Tim Hortons.
00:39Liberty Cab.
00:41Beep, beep.
00:42Yep.
00:43Who else?
00:4426 shirts.
00:46Between us, we're only wearing four shirts.
00:48One, two, four, five.
00:52How many shirts you got out?
00:53Two.
00:54Six shirts.
00:56Eight.
00:56I think that's seven, eight.
00:57We're up to eight shirts.
00:59It's brought to you by 26 shirts.
01:02Hartman's Distilling Company.
01:05This is straight alcohol.
01:08There we go.
01:09Now the show gets fun, folks.
01:11And by the U.S. Army.
01:12Be all you can be.
01:12See you Thursday.
01:13Not Thursday.
01:13See you Sunday at Wings of Hope.
01:16Kyle Juszczyk getting fined for drinking an invisible beer.
01:20How do you prove that that was beer?
01:22So lame.
01:23I get that it's invisible.
01:24It's super lame.
01:25I just pretended this was alcohol.
01:27It's not.
01:27It's water.
01:28Watch.
01:29For a second.
01:30Pretend this is grain alcohol.
01:32I was just in Pennsylvania.
01:33I bought some Everclear grain alcohol.
01:36Watch this.
01:38Man, you go.
01:40Ah.
01:41There's some drip down the side of your chin.
01:43There is drip down the line.
01:44How do you get fined for drinking an invisible beverage that someone determined was a beer?
01:48That's a great question.
01:49I get what he's implying.
01:50But God, there's a major hole there.
01:52I'm not paying that fine.
01:53I know.
01:54Should we ask Sal?
01:54Yeah.
01:55Let's see what Sal thinks.
01:57Hi, Sal.
01:57How do you get fined for drinking an invisible beer when we can't prove that it was beer?
02:00How do we know it wasn't non-alcoholic invisible beer?
02:03That's stupid.
02:04That's actually a really great question and point because I don't know if you guys saw
02:08the rest of this story, but Kyle Jusek talked about this.
02:11He said, listen, he said it was Juice.
02:13His nickname is Juice.
02:14That's something he does.
02:16He said, I don't even drink beer.
02:17He said, I might drink five times a year and that's in the off season.
02:20He said his nickname is Juice and he was pretending to drink juice.
02:24Uh-huh.
02:24And he said, I was just as surprised as anybody that I got fined.
02:29And then George Kittle, which was awesome.
02:31I love this.
02:31He said, I'm going to start a petition to change his nickname from Juice to beer.
02:37That's good.
02:38I like that a lot.
02:39All right.
02:39You're on the scene out in Orchard Park.
02:42What can you tell us?
02:43I can tell you we have not gone inside yet as far as, or outside, I should say.
02:46We are outside the field house, but we haven't gone inside the field house to go outside
02:50to the practice field yet.
02:52But so I figured I'd give you an update just from here to let you know that.
02:55And then, you know, as we go on here, if we get in, if we get out there while I'm
02:58on
02:58with you, I'll let you know who we see at practice.
03:00But obviously we're monitoring, you know, a few guys here, including obviously DJ Moore
03:05and Keon Coleman and what their status is.
03:07I'm also concerned and wondering about Jordan Hancock because he was limited with a hamstring
03:13on Wednesday and then didn't participate Thursday.
03:16Generally, when you have a, especially soft tissue with anything, an injury that you see
03:21as limited and then the next day you're not there, a lot of times it means you got hurt
03:25in practice.
03:25We don't know that.
03:26We'll find out.
03:27But, you know, that could obviously deplete their secondary depth a little bit, take a
03:31hit there.
03:32But I'll be, when the, you know, Bills and PR let us, you know, into practice when it's
03:38that time, I'll be able to give you a better read on who's practicing, who isn't today.
03:42Is it a given that if one of those receivers can't go, that Skylar Bell gets the call?
03:47I think so, yeah.
03:48I can't imagine it wouldn't be.
03:50Cool.
03:50I mean, you do have the option to say, okay, well, what about just putting Greg Dortch in
03:55the slot and letting him work a little bit there?
03:58If, you know, Keon, I'm sorry, Kalusha Keer can play a little more of the X because then
04:03you can kind of, you know, massage the numbers there by doing something somewhere else.
04:07But I can't see that not happening with Skylar Bell.
04:10Well, if DJ Moore and or Keon Coleman are not playing, you have to activate Skylar Bell.
04:16I mean, he's a fourth round pick.
04:17He showed you in the preseason, last preseason game that, you know, a little bit of juice
04:21there, I guess you'd say, speaking of juice.
04:24I would think, and he's ready to go.
04:26And he's biding his time.
04:28He's like, yeah, I'm just ready to be ready.
04:30And I asked him the other day about playing both positions, the X in the slot.
04:34He said he's learned a lot from Kalusha Keer, talking to him about the different routes and
04:38angles and things like that.
04:39And I'm intrigued by, you know, what he can bring.
04:41Yeah, and we'll call that the Barnes Firm Injury Report, brought to you by the Barnes
04:45Firm.
04:45If you've been injured in a crash, call the Barnes Firm, 1-800-8-Million.
04:49Yeah, so Bell, I'm very intrigued by.
04:52He was a dominant, I would say, borderline dominant college player that had a long sort
04:58of run of being a guy that was really relied upon.
05:01And I'm curious how he's sort of handling his transition into the NFL, where obviously he's
05:07been without a jersey for the first two games.
05:10I'm curious if you pick up a sense of, you know, drive there from him to like, once I
05:16get in there, I want to show these guys what's up and never be out of this lineup again.
05:20Oh, 100%.
05:21I mean, I think that's just the nature, as you know, Owen, of the professional athlete,
05:25right?
05:25That's how they're wired, right?
05:26Like, you want to give, you got to give the coach a reason to not want to, to want to
05:31keep you on there and not take you out of the lineup.
05:33He wants to do that.
05:34I think he for sure, you know, feels that, you know, he should be playing in some capacity,
05:38but he's not, you know, openly criticized or anything like that.
05:41But I think he has confidence in his ability.
05:44And it is interesting, this path that he took, you know, he was at Wisconsin, he started,
05:49and he didn't go so well for a couple of years.
05:51He wasn't super productive statistically.
05:53Then he goes to UConn, and he really is very statistically productive.
05:57And I think a lot of people look and go, well, that's against lower level competition.
06:01He couldn't really do it against the higher level competition.
06:04But, like, he was in college for five years.
06:06Sometimes it takes a little while for that to take hold.
06:09And he comes into this league as a much more experienced college player than a lot of these
06:14guys do.
06:16And, you know, a fourth round pick, he was very good with, you know, going through the
06:20testing, all the things that he needed to do to get drafted.
06:22And he's a fourth round pick.
06:24He's going to be expected to play a role.
06:26You're a fourth round pick in the NFL, and you usually get a game day jersey.
06:30He's not getting one right now because of the numbers of the position.
06:33They're going to expect him to contribute.
06:34And I think he absolutely feels that way about himself.
06:36I know I brought this up before, but I've seen him play in person three times, once at
06:40Wisconsin, and then twice for UConn against UB.
06:43And in those two games, he went for 12 catches, 207 yards, and four touchdowns, the lengths
06:49of which were 12, 25, 40, and 70.
06:51So that's what I know of Skylar Bell.
06:53I think that's a pretty good fourth round pick.
06:55I saw him play on TV against Syracuse last year.
06:58And he caught, I think, like 10 passes for 100 yards or something like that.
07:02And, you know, he was, whatever.
07:04And you're like, oh, my God, this guy's really good.
07:06And, you know, I agree with you.
07:07Like, he definitely stood out.
07:09And he also comes across as pretty mature for his age, right?
07:13Doesn't he strike you, Sal?
07:14I haven't spoken with him, but the sound bites I've heard from him, he kind of carries himself
07:20as a veteran would.
07:21He does.
07:23Also, he has kind of a radio voice.
07:25You ever notice that when you're listening to him?
07:26A little bit.
07:26He's got a little radio voice, or he could be in the media.
07:28He's also a hockey player.
07:30He played hockey growing up.
07:32And, you know, with the UConn, where Tage Thompson went, you know, so we've talked a little
07:36bit about hockey and, you know, him playing and that sport.
07:38I think that's a part of the whole makeup of him.
07:40You talk about the maturity.
07:42Like, he's been around sports.
07:43He's been around different locker rooms, different sports, different people.
07:46And I think that's just kind of the journey.
07:47And what happens is it shapes you, obviously.
07:49So, no doubt about it.
07:50I think he's handled all of this the right way, meaning, like, that he's not playing right
07:55now.
07:56But we know how this works.
07:58Opportunity comes along, and you've got to make it work, and you've got to be ready to play,
08:01right, as soon as that opportunity hits.
08:04All right.
08:04All right, Sal, thank you very much for checking in.
08:06If anything breaks.
08:08Do you want me to call you back if we're in there and I see who was practicing, or just
08:11kind of tweet it out and let you know and you can talk about it?
08:13I trust you to know if it's something that we need to know.
08:16If you see something that makes sense, come on in.
08:19If you don't, that's fine, too.
08:21We'll always take your call, Sal.
08:23How about that?
08:24Is that fair?
08:24You got it.
08:24And either way, I'll be, you know, I'll be inside the outside here.
08:29I always say inside or outside, but it's just across the fence.
08:33And I'll tweet out at Sal Sports, you know, what I see and let everybody know, but I
08:36could be giving you guys a call back.
08:37All right.
08:37If you got good stuff, bring it.
08:38Thanks, Sal.
08:40Thanks.
08:40All right.
08:41There's Sal Capaccio on the Western Hotline.
08:44Let's take a break.
08:46It's Owen Parker, Brad Reiter, part of WGR Middays, driven by Northtown Automotive with
08:50Brad, Tim, and Owen.
08:52Stay tuned.
