00:00I remember when I was maybe 10 years old, 10 or 11 years old, I must have seen something on
00:06TV
00:06or something about a vegetarian because I didn't know any, but I decided I wanted to be a vegetarian
00:10because I loved animals. And I probably lasted a couple of months and then I went back to eating
00:17meat because I think it was probably just wanting to fit in, not wanting to be different to everybody
00:24else. And it took me another 10 years before I even questioned that again. And when in my early
00:30twenties, I saw something that triggered it again. And I realized I'm not aligned. I am doing some,
00:37I'm paying people to do something to animals that I would never do myself. I claim to love animals.
00:42And yet I'm paying people to hurt them, to kill them. And so then of course I had to go
00:47vegan, but
00:49how, how could it have been different that it wouldn't have taken me another 10 years? Because
00:52if I had just that, that compassion had been nurtured or had been encouraged, then I'm sure I would have
01:00stayed vegetarian or gone vegan much, much earlier.
