00:06left her with a traumatic brain injury. Gabrielle Henry is suing not only Miss Universe, but the
00:10organizers of the 2025 preliminaries in Thailand, Miss Grand International, for negligence,
00:16claiming a five-foot-deep gap in the stage hadn't been properly protected when she plunged into it
00:21during the competition. The lawsuit states, quote, this opening was not barricaded, illuminated,
00:25nor did it have a sign. Henry was knocked unconscious when she landed on concrete and
00:30lighting equipment, resulting in a brain bleed, and she told GMA that her recovery has been horrific.
00:34There have been nights where I have not been able to sleep because of how severe the pain is.
00:43Miss Universe officials initially appeared to brush the incident off, calling her injuries a couple of
00:47minor wounds, but later changed that assessment, saying it took full and immediate responsibility
00:51without hesitation. That included footing her bill for her doctors. Henry wrote in an essay, quote,
00:56the injury permanently altered the course of my life.
