This chapter is the most human in all of Abraham's story. A man of great faith reduced to tears because of love. Who then stood up, negotiated with dignity, paid the full price, and buried his wife in the very first piece of land he truly owned in Canaan after decades of promise.
A cave. The first fulfillment of the promised land was a cave. That is how God's promises begin.
