00:00Hello again. Well, the changeable theme is set to continue over the next few days, and after a chilly night
00:05to come for many of us tonight,
00:07some unseasonably warm weather is on the way back for Tuesday and Wednesday.
00:10Out there this evening, still some showery outbreaks of rain to clear away from the east through the next few
00:14hours, and also northeast Scotland.
00:16And northwest Scotland will see a few blustery showers through the course of the night too, but otherwise it's going
00:20to turn into a dry night,
00:22and actually winds easing down considerably from today.
00:25With the clearing skies, it is set to turn quite chilly as well.
00:28So in the countryside, where we can see temperatures fall down to mid to low single figures potentially tonight,
00:33certainly in the towns and the cities, widely down to 6 to 10 degrees underneath those clearing skies.
00:39And in the countryside, as I say, the prone spots, rural areas, could perhaps see a touch of frost with
00:44lows of between 2 and 4 degrees Celsius by the morning.
00:48As well as that, a few patches of mist and fog, perhaps most likely across Wales, the Midlands, and up
00:53towards northeast England.
00:54But the fog won't last very long. It will clear by mid to late morning on Monday, and then Monday
00:59is set to be another fine day.
01:01High pressure bills across the UK, so much lighter winds compared to on Sunday.
01:05There will still be a bit of a blustery breeze across the very far north of Scotland,
01:09and certainly in the morning there will be a fair number of showers,
01:12but these will become confined to the Hebrides and perhaps Shetland and Orkney by the afternoon.
01:17Notice also across the very far southeast of England,
01:19some rain may just creep into parts of Kent and Sussex in particular by the afternoon,
01:24and there will certainly be more in a way of high-level cloud across the south and the southeast of
01:28England on Monday.
01:30So here it will feel pleasant in any sunshine.
01:32Highs are around 21 degrees, but certainly notably warmer compared to on Sunday elsewhere,
01:37with plenty of sunshine and lighter winds.
01:41As we go into Monday evening, that rain is causing a few headaches.
01:44It might well start to become a bit heavier and push us away a little bit further north and northwestwards
01:49across the southeast of England and into some parts of Wales perhaps by the time we get to Tuesday morning.
01:54In the south, with the cloud cover and a freshening southeasterly wind,
01:58it will be a much milder night compared to tonight.
02:01Temperatures perhaps not falling below the mid to low teens Celsius in the very far south.
02:05We will hold on to some clearer skies there across parts of central and eastern Scotland,
02:09and in particular northeast England, where temperatures in the countryside here could certainly get down to mid to low single
02:14figures locally once again.
02:16So it will rule out some frost here in a few spots.
02:20Now, there is signs of a change as we go into Tuesday.
02:23This warm front will be introducing much warmer air as we go through the course of the day,
02:28as well as that.
02:28The isobars are really starting to squeeze together through Tuesday.
02:31But notice the winds, they're coming all the way up from the south.
02:34And by the end of Tuesday, some very unseasonally warm air will be affecting many parts of the UK.
02:40It's partly due to this large area of low pressure that's developing across the northeast Atlantic,
02:45and that really deepens as we go through Tuesday and into Wednesday.
02:48Notice these colours, these pink shades, are indicative of gusts of 50 to 60 miles per hour,
02:53mainly over the ocean at this point.
02:55But nonetheless, we could see gales later on Tuesday and into Wednesday around some western coasts of the British Isles.
03:01And as I say, a very windy picture as we go towards the middle of the week for many of
03:05us.
03:06But back to Tuesday morning, and it's southern areas that will start the day fairly cloudy.
03:10Some showery outbreaks of rain, but as I say, some uncertainties in terms of the details of where those showers
03:15will be.
03:15Some brightness and some sunshine across the north of Scotland first thing,
03:19and certainly brightening up as we go through the day across more central and southern parts of England as well.
03:24Now, if we see the sunshine develop, it's going to be a very warm day for the time of year.
03:28Highs potentially into the high 20s locally, but certainly 25 or 26 degrees Celsius is on the cards.
03:35And even further north, it will be a more humid, warmer picture as well.
03:3919 or 20 degrees in parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland.
03:41But notice the breeze.
03:43That breeze will be pegging back temperatures across the northeast of Scotland to 13 or 14 degrees here.
03:48So potentially a little bit below par for the time of year.
03:51But otherwise, notice these orange and red colours.
03:54That's indicative of temperatures well above average for September.
03:57And as I say, in the sunshine, it will feel unseasonably warm.
04:01But it will turn increasingly windy as we go through Tuesday afternoon and Tuesday evening and overnight.
04:06So gales developing from the west and a much more unsettled picture as we move towards Wednesday for all parts
04:12of the UK.
