00:23However, the claim is not true.
00:25There is no evidence that Danish officials or the media selected the music played before the event
00:31on the 22nd of September.
00:33The signing ceremony sealed a new security deal between the US, Denmark and Greenland
00:39following months of threats by the US President to annex the Danish territory.
00:44The Cube reached out to the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs,
00:47which said it was not involved in the choice of music during the signing.
00:51Yet, Send in the Clowns was indeed one of the tracks played before the event
00:56as US State Secretary Marco Rubio entered the room.

01:06to sign the agreement with Frederiksen and Nielsen.
01:10The deal was closed after 10 months of talks,
01:13putting an end to the political debate for control of Greenland
01:16after Trump repeatedly threatened to take it by force.
01:20It allows greater US military presence in Greenland,
01:24while keeping the Arctic territory in Denmark's ends.
01:27NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte also welcomed the New Deal.
01:32On X, he wrote that the agreement enhances the collective security of NATO members
01:38and supports a safer and more stable future for them all.
01:42Greenland is politically attached to Europe through Denmark,
01:45but is also regarded as a strategic asset for North America by the Trump administration.
