Some wildlife moments change character the closer you get.
The camera points down at shallow water where numerous small crabs cluster and move across the surface. As the shot tightens, their thin legs and quick movements make them resemble spiders more than typical crabs. The frame lingers on the dense group as they continue to shift and scatter in the shallows.
The filmer, Ben, told WooGlobe, “We visited an island off the Gold Coast in Queensland, and thousands of these small crabs came out of the sand. They looked like spiders.”
From a distance it reads like a simple shoreline scene, but the close-up turns it into an unexpectedly strange pattern of motion.
