00:00Good evening students. Today while I was addressing few student representatives in my office,
00:05I thought why not reach out to each one of you and talk to you about what had happened,
00:12this unfortunate thing that had happened in the campus on Saturday and Sunday too.
00:21With a heavy heart I just want to say that the kind of trust and relationship LPU and the student
00:28community shares is very, very different and exemplary. I don't think that this trust is in families
00:37and all of you know that we trust each one of you and I believe in the competency of each
00:43one of you.
00:44That is reflected through what you do in the campus. Like we have around 400 student organizations
00:52and the students are present in all different committees in the student clubs, societies,
00:57where you are all participating every day. And if you look at student organization concept only,
01:04you know there are every student organization has around 100 students in it. So around 4000 students
01:09are directly responsible you know to plan and execute all the events in the campus right from
01:16induction to convocation. So I you know LPU believes in your competencies and we stay like a family and
01:24and the kind of trust we have on each one of you is so special and the bond is so
01:30special.
01:31But this is what happened was very, very unfortunate. The students with so many channels
01:39in place like a special division called student relationship and then the RMS is there and
01:46an online platform and then every head has their meeting schedules with each one of you and I also have
01:51special sessions with you all of you on Tuesday and Friday all of you are aware of it and the
01:56kind
01:57of zero tolerance we have towards all such things. I mean I was just I was just thinking that how
02:02is it
02:02possible that my students did not bring this issue if they if they were feeling so why didn't they bring
02:08it up to us and they just believed in this rumor which was spreading. I mean I don't know I
02:15felt so
02:15hard I felt so hurt actually so I feel that so you believed in this one rumor and then you
02:28know
02:28just just completely believed and you know gathered together and all those things happen
02:34and there are some outsiders who joined few students and then the way they did in the campus is
02:42completely uncalled for because you know what happened in the campus there there were shops which
02:47were looted and the way the students or the outside people I don't know who they were they were they
02:52were looting things out of the campus and that was I mean it was so painful specifically for me because
03:00I feel my children how can they go how can they go do like this so I was hurt and
03:07yes it's very
03:09important for us because we need to be on social media but we cannot be believing social media blindly
03:15we have to be mature enough to understand you know what is right and what is wrong then what is
03:23the fun of
03:23being in a university it's not about only knowledge it is also about what decisions you take for yourself
03:29and for people around you so I think it is very important for all of us to see what is
03:37there on the social media and how do we take it you know
03:41the students who were
03:46a lot of students who looted and all I know you are feeling very unsafe because of them because if
03:51it could happen you know it can happen to us also you must be feeling so so joe woh miscrints

03:56or joe jinhon hai aise chori kari ki hai unke opar action ho na chahiye and I think police is
04:02also
04:02taking it serious note of it and as a university it's also our responsibility to take care of such
04:08wrong people and at the same time I I was very it was very heartening to see why how the
04:16few students
04:16they were coming on the social media or they were talking to various students helping the wrong
04:23element to be eliminated and how they were you know pushing the first year students especially
04:28because they were naive and how they were educating them they were coming coming on the social media
04:32and refuting what was wrong prevailing so I think that is what my children are that is what actual
04:39virtue virtues are supposed to do so I was very pleased I want to thank each one of you who
04:44have
04:44supported us in through the social media and the way you have stood by your university your family
04:50hats off to you and I want to congratulate each one of you to support and be a stood like
04:57a pillar
04:58with us in this two day of crisis and children but I want to appeal in the end I want
05:04to appeal each one
05:05of you because the day before in fact Saturday there was a there was a company which was supposed to
05:12come for all of you and it was very heartening for me to tell them to maybe postpone the drive
05:18which
05:18was a lot of students are going to be affected by that particular drive the postponing that particular
05:23drive so which is very very bad you know it should not have happened but then we had to take
05:29this hard step
05:30so I want to appeal each one of you because this is your career your future your safety is paramount
05:37to us
05:37and I would appeal and urge each one of you to refrain yourself from such a social media posts which
05:44are
05:44you know all over and please apply your own mind and see what is right and wrong for you come
05:49up to us
05:50we are your family come up to us and if you if you have any you you see clarifications from
05:55us
05:55whether this has happened and be a part of us and we can check it out we can whether we
06:00can go there
06:00and see whether it actually happened or not you know I will be with you if you want I can
06:05go around
06:06with you and see I mean as a woman it is my responsibility also for taking care of the students
06:12and
06:12especially the girl child and I think this is my final appeal to each one of you I know you've
06:19been
06:19given this 10 day leave to just feel normal and come back with your especially your midterms approaching
06:27you know after these holidays but I want that each one of you please stay positive maintain calm
06:32and peace of mind is very important for each one of you and also reflect on what had happened in
06:38these
06:38two days and how we can be closely working with lpu for your betterment your future and which is
06:46which is very very important you are the future of india and globe and I would wish each one of
06:52you
06:54but don't worry we are with you and the people who the outsider especially who have been there they
07:01will be taken to task and my students take care of yourself and remain with your families closing it
07:12close-knit with your families thank you so much
