00:06and Good Life.
00:07We are a fun family dog event today. It is our annual dog show, which is the biggest event of
00:13the year for Animal Arcade.
00:15As you can see, we've got dog events and dog categories for all different sorts of dogs.
00:21Every single year it's an event for any type of dog, any age.
00:24We have Golden Oldies categories, Best Rescue, Coolest Pups for the Younger Ones, right through to Best Trick and Youngest
00:33Handler for anybody under age 13.
00:35Animal Arcade's a local umbrella charity and we fundraise for all of the small animal charities.
00:42So everything from that we've got two hedgehog rescues here today.
00:45We've got the foxes. We have the cat rescues, various dog charities.
00:49And all the fundraising we do across the year is shared out between those little local small charities that struggle
00:57to fundraise for themselves.
00:58We love coming here because the people of Garfoth are animal mad.
01:02They love bringing their animals out.
01:04There's Dog Agility, Tailwagger's dog display team putting on some brilliant displays of doggy dancing.
01:10Well, I'm Angela, Angela Lowry, and I've run the Tailwagger Training Club for probably about 25 years now.
01:18And so we are the Tailwagger Club dog display team.
01:22So the requirement to be in the team is that you go to classes, you go to a Tailwagger class.
01:28And that's the only requirement.
01:29They don't have to have any sort of level of training.
01:34They can be puppies, they can be older dogs, they can be rescues.
01:39And we then sort them out and we turn them into hopefully something like this.
01:44We do loads of stuff.
01:46We are absolutely passionate about kind training.
01:50I've always been dog mad.
01:51I was never allowed a dog as a kid.
01:53So the first thing I did as an adult was go out and rescue a dog.
01:57And I think you get something very special out of a dog.
02:00They live in the present and they tend to see the positive side of life.
02:03So having a dog and getting out in that weather and sniffing the air, I think it's a really beautiful
02:09thing.
02:09I feel really strongly that dogs haven't really done anything to end up in rescue.
02:15You get a lot of good dogs end up homeless and at risk of being put to sleep.
02:19And it's really important to me that we try and do better for them and try and match them with
02:23happy homes, recycle them into a better life.
02:27Half of our dogs are rescue dogs, you know, and it's kind of giving them a bit of something extra
02:34back to do.
02:35And it gives you something.
02:36There's loads of things to do now with your dogs.
02:38There wasn't before.
02:39And there's more and more things.
02:40There's who plays.
02:42There's agility.
02:43There's loads and loads of things.
02:44And everywhere, people enjoy doing stuff with dogs.
02:47And then you get it back.
02:49You get it back a hundred times.
02:51So they tell you exactly what they think.
02:54And if they don't want to work for you, they won't.
02:56So it's a lot of fun.
