01:04As it turns out, there are many gorgeous animals that walk the earth that the average person

01:11Even among a fairly common animal, like horses for example, there is surprising beauty to

01:18It's certainly no secret that all horses are majestic, beautiful creatures, but there's
01:23one breed in particular that truly stands out from the rest.
01:26It's called a Kahl Tiki, and it hails from Turkmenistan.
01:30As if that didn't seem exotic enough, these horses are known for their shining blonde coats
01:36that almost look metallic.
01:39Known in China as horses from heaven, these creatures are very rare, with only around 1,250
01:46in existence today.
01:48Their coats actually get their trademark luster from the unique structural properties of the
01:53hares themselves.
01:55Scientists have discovered that the proteins in these horses' hares are arranged in such
02:00a way that when light hits them, the hares reflect and refract the light, similarly to
02:06how metal does.
02:07That's a pretty nifty genetic fluke.
02:09Just look at this beauty.
02:12As it turns out, a Kahl Tiki aren't the only rare majestic horses roaming the earth.
02:17Just ask Scott and Jackie Nelson, who have owned and operated the Down Under Color Ranch
02:22in Melbourne, Florida for many years.
02:25Their ranch boasts quite a number of impressive American and Australian paint horses, which
02:30have a recognizable pattern on their coats and are known worldwide for their incredible
02:35appearance.
02:36This includes the presence of what are known as Pinto markings.
02:41The Nelsons are highly regarded by other ranchers as experts in the business.
02:46They train and raise the animals right on their own property.
02:49Additionally, they partake in nationwide competitions where their horses stand to win rosettes.
02:56Clearly, the Nelsons were incredibly proud of the horses they've been raising all these
03:00years.
03:01So it's no wonder they were excited to discover that one of their mares, Poka, had recently
03:06become pregnant for the first time ever.
03:08However, little did they know what would lie ahead of them.
03:11One night during her 11th month of pregnancy, Poka suddenly went into labor.
03:16The Nelsons stood by in anticipation of the foal that would emerge.
03:20With their cameras in hand, they were instantly stunned.
03:24This foal was different in a major way.
