The unassuming and unlikely Steve Birkinshaw is one of the great fell runners. In this Lakeland tale of epic proportions, family man Steve turns to the people's champion as an inspirational figure through this extraordinary challenge. Have your mind and arteries blown as Steve attempts to break the legendary Joss Naylor's 27 year old record by linking up all 214 Lakeland Wainwright summits in under seven days. A level of suffering breaching into the super human. Featuring stunning cinematography by multi-award winner Alastair Lee, this wholesome, touching and personal account will not fail to leave you uplifted and believing anything is possible. We share every high and low as Steve questions his motives and battles on through 20 hour days with little or no sleep, blister hell, dehydration, searing heat and tendonitis are just some of the obstacles between Steve and a place in fell running history. Essentialy this is not a story about fell running but of the relentless human spirit.

00:26I wish I couldn't sleep, I ate alright, but I just couldn't sleep.
00:29The first night the knees were slobbing so much, so I started the second day pretty wasted really, shattered and
00:37dehydrated.
00:41How are you going Steve? Not too bad actually.
00:55Everybody having a good time?
00:57Oh yeah, the weather's been good.
00:59Yeah, the whole stomach is quite good for the moment and this morning after absolutely awful.
01:08Yeah, it would be nice to get this section and score off our pipe finished and then I feel like
01:11I'm actually sort of making progress.
01:15Anyway you keep going, well done.
01:16Alright.

01:43A hundred miles until I reach my shore.
01:50Holding on just trying to steer, bitter shakes from last night's beer, too many miles until I hit my shore.
02:12Well done.
02:13Yeah.
02:15Where are we Steve?
02:16Yeah, Schofield Pike.
02:18Highest mountain in England.
02:20There's no one up here, it's a bit odd.
02:23Quarter?
02:24Oh that's loads.
02:26Quarter's loads isn't it?
02:27Yeah.
02:28Nearly half.
02:31Great end next year.
02:33Great end next year.
02:35Great end next year.
02:35I was out with him again on the Sunday from Schofield Pike to Langdale.
02:39When we met him, he was obviously pretty tired.
02:42On the last hill that we were on with him going up Piper Bliscoe, he was complaining about being weary
02:48and tired and his feet were starting to hurt, his knees were hurting.
02:52And you think now, two days in, he's still got a long, long way to go.
02:56And I was pretty doubtful whether he was going to carry on and do it.
