00:00Firstly, a police response was activated in the early hours of Sunday morning due to a
00:07range of information that we received. This included a call from the member of public
00:13about several vehicles acting suspiciously close to RAF Fairford. Now those vehicles,
00:21as I explained yesterday, have been subject to extensive examination with the support of military
00:26assets and forensic experts and we can confirm that no improvised explosive devices have been found.
00:34We have found a quantity of an accelerant, petrol, and we have recovered that as part of our investigation.
00:42As part of our investigation we have also searched properties in London and those searches are now
00:48finished and we're also now reducing the investigative scenes around RAF Fairford and we
00:54expect them to be closed completely tomorrow. You'll also be aware that yesterday we released
01:01five men on police bail. Now they remain under investigation and they must adhere to very
01:07strict conditions. It's really important that you understand that the safety of the public
01:14is at the forefront of our investigative decision making and this was certainly the case yesterday.
01:20Now I understand why this development was surprising to some but I would like to reiterate that this
01:26is an investigative decision and one which is grounded in experience and strategy.
