00:21You were just coming from an event over at the White House.

00:24Talking about that topic with the leaders of the industry.
00:26So I thought it would be interesting to share a recap with the audience.
00:31Observations, perspectives that came out of the lunches that you can share, of course.
00:34Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:35Well, first of all, Joe, congratulations to your new team again.
00:38When Joe and I first started talking about this, the one thing I said is, don't let it be a
00:43clusterfuck like America.gov.
00:45Hopefully, oh, sorry.
00:47Excuse me.
00:48Hopefully no kids in the back.
00:50Or excuse me, like healthcare.gov.
00:52And America.gov has got to be the good version of that.
00:56And I think you guys have done an amazing job.
00:58So give it up to Joe and his team.
01:00An amazing thing.
01:02You know, it is possible, actually, to build good software tools for the American people.
01:09You just have to have competent people doing it.
01:11And that's exactly what you've done.
01:12So the lunch today, obviously, you know, I'd be a little bit careful about it because it was a private
01:18conversation.
01:18But, you know, what the president wanted to do is obviously be responsive, first of all, to the American people's
01:23concerns because you have a lot of doomerism about AI or superintelligence, as we're now calling it.
01:30And there's a lot of, you know, what's actually happening here.
01:33And I think a lot of Americans, when they think of AI or SI, they think, oh, my God, this
01:37is Skynet, right?
01:39They think the Terminators are going to come and take over everything and, you know, take over our nuclear weapons
01:43and have the robots running around killing people.
01:46And that's just not going to happen.
01:47That's actually not going to happen.
01:48Now, what could happen is you have people who are building AI tools not actually being careful about what they're
01:55doing, about the responsibility they have to build products that actually work, that don't hurt people, et cetera, et cetera.
