00:00It's hard when you're picking two players, it's hard to not go with Carson Bench or Nolan McClain.
00:04You know, Carson Bench, for me, when I think about him in particular,
00:08the thing I'm always going to think about with his rookie season was how it started and then how it
00:13finished.
00:14You got the home run and opening day, and then you saw the young man struggle after that.
00:18I remember you saying this in our spring training shows about how much you were impressed with the mentality
00:26when you were talking to people around him, how much they talked about that.
00:29So that mental fortitude to stay up at the major league level, to fight back,
00:34to then have the numbers that he finishes the season with, hitting over 280, hitting 20 home runs, stealing 22
00:39bases,
00:40you know, getting on base about 35% of the time, seeing all that that he was able to do
00:44was wildly impressive.
00:46And then McClain, you know, you had to get people coming into the season talking about,
00:50oh, well, he could be a challenge for Cy Young.
00:52And I was always like, hey, man, let's pump the brakes on that.
00:55He's going to have some starts where he gets roughed up.
00:57The league's going to adjust to him.
00:58How is he going to adjust back?
00:59And he saw that.
01:00And I think with those two guys in particular, what I'm talking about is you saw the mental toughness
01:03through some challenges they had through the season, and he still were able to produce where you're like,
01:08okay, they're here.
