00:00I am part of a generation who has grown up not having the sorts of opportunities to live
00:05a good life that we deserve.
00:07We have families who are desperate for secure housing.
00:11We have families who cannot afford to send their child to childcare.
00:16We have families who are deeply anxious about the climate crisis and are watching this Labor
00:21government wave through new coal and gas projects at this critical moment in time.
00:27We essentially are at a moment where the community is scratching their heads saying, who does
00:31this government work for?
00:32We have a government that is letting corporations write the rules in this country.
00:39And the same goes for the opposition and One Nation.
00:41They are captured and owned by their corporate donors.
00:45Well, the Greens are not here to reform the Labor Party.
00:48We are here to replace the Labor Party.
00:50And I will be working alongside my dear colleague, Senator Shoebridge, as our new Greens leader.
00:56To take the fight to those corporate parties.
00:58To take the fight to those corporations.
01:01We have stared down the gas industry.
01:03We have stared down the warmongers.
01:05And we are staring down the tech billionaires who think that they can run rampant and write
01:09the rules in this country.
01:10Well, we say no, not under our watch.
01:12So I am looking forward to working with David to bring a bold vision to Australia.
01:17To grow our movement.
01:18To confront the impending climate crisis that is here now.
01:25As David said, we have the biggest El Niño coming down the barrel.
01:28I am here to work with my colleagues as constructively as I possibly can to build this Greens movement
01:34to something so big that we can reassure the community, that democracy works for them.
01:42That we turn up to do our job to make the lives of everyday Australians a lot easier.
01:48It does not have to be this way in a wealthy country like Australia.
01:51So, I am incredibly excited, I am energetic and I am optimistic about the opportunities that this moment brings.
01:58I am ready to roll up my sleeves and work hard with my colleague Senator Shoebridge
02:02and our broader Greens team and our broader Greens movement.
