00:04Numerosity. In human psychology, it's a sensitivity to numbers, like being able to tell the difference between a couple of
00:09objects and many.
00:10But now researchers from Emory University have found that man's best friend may also have this skill, and they use
00:15the same part of their brains to employ it as we do.
00:18The team of researchers trained 11 dogs to sit completely still in an fMRI machine, while they scanned their brains
00:23while showing them a series of dots, observing how their brains reacted when the dogs alternated position and quantity.
00:29And the researchers found that a region of the dog's brains lit up more intensely when the quantity changed, just
00:34like humans and apes.
00:35And it was the same parietotemporal region, which the researchers say could mean that numerosity developed before man and man's
00:42best friend diverged in our evolutionary paths 90 to 100 million years ago.
00:46The researchers said about the discovery,
00:48Our findings suggest that the ability to represent numerosity and the mechanisms supporting this system are deeply conserved over evolutionary
00:55time, perhaps owing to a role in foraging or predation.
01:01We'll see you in the next episode in time, but we'll have a very great family- pokemon,a guide

01:01WeBER Oh, and go back to you now.
01:02Thank you so much time,
