00:00Jalen Davis, while he was put on injured reserve, he suffered a hamstring injury in Sunday's loss to the Steelers,
00:06and it impacts a lot.
00:07It impacts a secondary that had some questions certainly coming into this season, and now more questions.
00:14Because you look at the updated depth chart, and Dax Hill is the starting nickel cornerback alongside DJ Turner and
00:22DJ Ivy.
00:23So it's the DJs and Dax that are going to start on Sunday against Jacksonville, and that's it.
00:29The pressure's on.
00:30Right now for this Bengals secondary, and for Dax Hill, look, he's in a contract year.
00:34He's in that fifth-year option season where he's making $12 million, but he needs a big year because he's
00:40going to be a free agent in March.
00:42And so now that versatility, well, they're certainly going to lean on it.
00:47And there's a look at all of the roster moves.
00:48Jalen Davis to injured reserve.
00:50Keyshawn Williams cut.
00:51More on him in just a second.
00:52Mitch Tinsley back in the building after a month away on the Houston Texans practice squad.
00:56Tanner Hudson back to the active roster, which felt inevitable.
00:59And they also signed two safeties to the practice squad.
01:03And more on those in just a second as well.
01:05But let's continue with the secondary because I do think this Jalen Davis move very, very noteworthy.
01:11One, the writing was kind of on the wall that Jalen Davis was a weak spot in this defense.
01:17It was something that the Steelers certainly targeted.
01:20They targeted the Bengals linebackers on Sunday.
01:22They targeted Jalen Davis.
01:23He gave up the touchdown on the opening drive.
01:26And they looked at it and they said, yeah, he probably has good tackling qualities and can blitz and do
01:31some of the things that Mike Hilton did back in the day.
01:34But he's also a liability in coverage.
01:36And we saw that on Sunday.
01:38So now you have a guy in Dax Hill who's shown his versatility.
01:42Well, it's prove it time for Dax.
01:44If you're Dax, this is an opportunity to show the entire NFL that you're one of the most versatile defensive
01:49backs in the league, that you can be a game changer on a secondary that needs it.
01:54And in the meantime, a guy like DJ Ivey, who's listed as a starter alongside DJ Turner, what's a chance
02:01for him to prove it as well?
02:02He's in a contract year.
02:03And he's someone that's been primarily a special teamer for this Cincinnati Bengals secondary.
02:08But I look at it and I see these Jacksonville wide receivers and that Jacksonville offense coming to town.
02:14This secondary is very, very much going to be tested on Sunday at Paycora Stadium.
02:20And it starts with Dax Hill manning that nickel cornerback spot where he'll be matched up a lot with Parker
02:26Washington, who's been a star for the past year or so for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
