00:08I'm Detective Sergeant Kelly Wynne of the Protecting Vulnerable People Unit in North Wales Police.
00:14Shortly before 5pm on Sunday the 27th of September, North Wales Police were contacted by a member of the public
00:21reporting the discovery of the body of a newborn baby along the shoreline near the Siliwen Road area of Bangor.
00:28We are working closely with partners to establish the circumstances.
00:33We have real concerns for the health of the mother.
00:37Immediate inquiries have been unable to identify her.
00:41We recognise that the mother is likely to be extremely vulnerable.
00:45She may be fearful of seeking the support she needs through fear of identifying herself.
00:52I would like to speak directly to the mother of this baby.
00:57Firstly, I want you to know that our immediate concerns is for your health, safety and well-being.
01:04We recognise that you may be feeling frightened, overwhelmed or unsure about what to do next.
01:12You may feel you have nowhere to turn or that you cannot speak to anyone about what has happened.
01:19Please do not feel that you have to face this alone.
01:23We don't currently know all the circumstances surrounding your baby's death, but what is important right now is that we
01:31find you,
01:32make sure you are safe and ensure you receive any medical attention and support you may need.

02:05We are concerned that the baby's mother may not be in a position to reach out for support.
02:10So we are appealing directly to the mother, father and those who may have knowledge such as friends, family, neighbours

02:27been unusual or out of character over the past few months,
02:31including withdrawing from friends, family or social ties, please contact us.
02:38We appreciate coming forward is really difficult, but inaction is not an option.
02:43The mother desperately needs help. Anyone with information, we need you to do the right thing to ensure this mother
02:52gets the helps and support she needs.
