00:00Yankees are announced, including guys not on the wild card roster, except for Aaron Judge.
00:07Aaron Judge was never announced.
00:09Aaron Judge wasn't on the field, and it was noticeable by many that were at the game.
00:14And then you were on social media.
00:16You saw that, because if you weren't at the game, how the hell would you know?
00:18It's not like NBC is showing us this.
00:20It's one big criticism I have about NBC and the other networks.
00:22I'd like to see that.
00:23I think it's a fun part of the postseason.
00:25But Aaron Judge was at the game.
00:27In fact, we saw him with his hoodie on being very supportive of his team.
00:32So what do you make out of the fact that Aaron Judge, I'm going to assume, refused, I'll use that
00:38word, refused to be announced on the field?
00:41Because I would assume the Yankees would be okay with it.
00:43Don't you think that that's Aaron Judge making that decision?
00:45Who else would it be?
00:46Exactly.
00:46That's Aaron Judge saying, let it be about those guys that are out there.
00:50I don't want my situation, because it is a situation, because we talked about it.
00:54I mean, most of our conversation about the Yankees yesterday was about Aaron Judge not being on the wildcard roster.
01:00So I think Aaron Judge being an aware leader, I was going to say good, but that's not really the
01:07right word.
01:08He's just an aware leader of that team, said, leave it on those guys.
01:12Let me not be any part of this conversation.
01:14I'm going to be there, because I got y'all's back, but I'm going to have my hoodie on, I'm
01:19going to be in the dugout, and I'm not going to be a part of what you guys are trying
01:22to accomplish in this three-game series.
01:25Hopefully two-game series.
01:26But you know what I mean.
01:27So I think that's Aaron Judge making that decision.
01:30Why don't you go and ask Sean Morash?
01:31I will.
01:32What do you say?
01:32Wow.
01:33That's an interesting answer, because I think Tiki, by not doing it, he made himself a part of the conversation.
01:37And I only say that because every other guy who was not eligible or hurt, like Fernando Cruz, I know
01:43they're not as big a deal, all got introduced.
01:44And anybody who's ever been a Yankee that hasn't been able and has been hurt in every postseason gets introduced.
01:50Okay, but do you care that Fernando Cruz is not on the wildcard roster?
01:53No, no, no.
01:54Do you care that any of those other guys are not on the wildcard roster?
01:56No, but I guess my caveat—
01:58And you do care that Aaron Judge is not on the wildcard roster.
02:00Sure, but by being introduced, what is that—it causes no controversy to be introduced.
02:05We'd all give him a hand and go get better.
02:06Well, it causes a conversation.
02:07Oh, man, it'd be good if Aaron Judge was out there.
02:09Oh, man, I wish he would.
02:10Look, he looks good out there.
02:12I don't think that—see, I don't even think we're mentioning this in four hours of radio today if he doesn't
02:16get introduced.
02:16I think it came across—
02:17You mean if he does?
02:18If he does.
02:19Listen, you might be right.
02:20Here's the way I now interpret that by knowing nothing.
02:23It comes across as somebody that's supportive of his teammates in the dugout, but pissed at the organization and says,
02:28I'm not going to let you use me to cheer this because I wanted to be on this roster.
02:32Really?
02:33That was my interpretation.
02:33And by the way, I could be wrong, but it is now the conversation—
02:36Okay, if you're Aaron Judge, why are you playing politics at the beginning of the playoffs?
02:41I think he's pissed.
02:42I can't—he probably is, but I can't see him undermining potential success for his team to play politics.
02:49Okay, I just can't—I can't imagine that.
02:52I don't think it's undermining the success of the team.
02:54I think we could just connect the dots of he had a problem with the fact that Aaron Boone called
02:57it a moderate strain.
02:59He—I forgot.
03:00I'm forgetting the other thing.
03:01He had a—oh, we couldn't know about any—
03:03The timing.
03:04The timing thing.
03:05All of this.
03:06He has said—
03:06He wasn't available, basically.
03:08We're not counting on him for the wild card.
03:10He's clearly—
03:11That's what I've said.
03:11He's clearly not been happy with the Yankees in terms of the messaging of his injury.
03:16And now, he made a point of not counting himself out for the playoff roster.
03:19He doesn't get put on the playoff roster.
03:21And the moment they introduce everybody, he's the one guy that is ineligible, that is not going to be introduced.
03:27It comes across as somebody who's pissed at the organization.
03:30That could be wrong, but that is now the conversation I think he's opened up by not being introduced last
03:34night.
03:34I err on the side of agreeing with Tiki, but there's one thing you said that I do agree with.
03:38So, I think that the reason Aaron Judge wasn't introduced is because I think in his mind he feels like,
03:44If I'm not playing, don't celebrate me.
03:47If I'm not going to be out there to help my teammates, don't put me on a pedestal.
03:51So, I don't think it was a negative thing.
03:52I think it was a modest thing.
03:53That's interesting.
03:54Yeah.
03:55It's about my teammates.
03:56That feels right.
03:57It's more about them and not me.
03:58Yeah, don't make it about me.
03:59I could see that.
04:00But here's where I do agree with you, Sean.
04:02By not being announced, guys like us are talking about it.
04:06Yeah.
04:06If he was announced, it'd be no discussion.
04:09And when I say guys like us, I don't mean us doing a radio show.
04:11I mean people around the water cooler today.
04:14Like, if you went to the game, that is maybe something you're saying to your friends.
04:17Yeah, by the way, an announced judge.
04:18If judge is announced, it's an on story and it's never talked about.
04:22So, even if he didn't do it on purpose, he didn't make it about himself.
