Transcript
00:00We're testing out the fastest way to thaw frozen chicken.
00:02First up, the pan method.
00:04Place your meat in one of the pans and add a second one right on top.
00:06Number two is the water method.
00:07You're going to put your chicken into a ziploc
00:09and then submerge it into room temperature water.
00:11I'm placing a bowl on top to keep it completely covered.
00:13The third way is to defrost it in the microwave.
00:15This is going in the microwave on the defrost setting for about three to four minutes.
00:18As you can see, the edges are kind of starting to cook and the middle is still frozen.
00:21So while this is one of the fastest ways allegedly to thaw chicken, it's not actually the best.
00:25It's been about 35 minutes, so let's check the pan method.
00:27Wow, look at that.
00:29So we have thawed chicken in 35 minutes.
00:30I'd say that's pretty good.
00:31We're checking back in on the water method.
00:33It's been about an hour and our chicken is fully thawed.
00:35This is actually the method that I use the most at home, but as it turns out, it's not the
00:38fastest.
00:39Ultimately, the fastest and safe way to thaw your meat is going to be by using the pan method.
