00:00October could bring your first frost, first flakes and another warm up. Flash flooding is the biggest story to start
00:04the month in the southwest and central U.S., but to end the first full week of October, November like
00:09air pushes from the Great Lakes into the northeast, which means the season's first snowflakes for parts of Michigan and
00:15northern New England, especially near the lakes and at higher elevations. A frost capable of ending the growing season is
00:20also a concern, including across interior Pennsylvania and New York. So keep an eye on those overnight forecasts if you
00:26still have plants outside. But the chill is not going to stick around all month. A much warmer
00:29pattern is expected to develop from the Great Lakes to the east coast around October 18th through the 23rd. And
00:35we're still watching the tropics, including near Florida and the Bahamas early in the month, even with limited chances for
00:40development overall.
