00:02Thanks Nisha. Good evening Trinidad and Tobago. Let's get right to your weather.
00:07Here's what's happening. Gusty winds accompanied by brief heavy rainfall is approaching Trinidad and Tobago.
00:14Eastern areas of Trinidad are already experiencing increased cloudiness,
00:19breezy conditions with wind gusts between 50 to 60 kilometers per hour in showers.
00:26Strongest winds and heaviest rainfall will favor eastern areas of Trinidad and across Tobago over the next hour.
00:34Keeping that in mind, tonight you can expect cloudy periods with rain that can become heavy
00:40with minimum temperatures at 25 degrees in Trinidad and 26 in Tobago.
00:45Now that weak low-level trap is forecast to affect the country through tomorrow morning.
00:51So that means you can't give the umbrellas a rest just yet.
00:55The Met Office says tomorrow's cloudy intervals with scattered showers will occasionally interrupt settled periods.
01:02There's a possibility of these showers becoming heavy at times with accompanying gusty winds.
01:08But from late morning onwards, things should get settled but hazy and breezy as well.
01:15Daytime temperatures will reach up to 33 degrees in both islands.
01:18And dust concentration will be mild to moderate.
01:22So prepare yourself if you are sensitive to these changes in inequality.
01:27Now moving on to what we can expect on our two favorite days of the week.
01:31Both Friday and Saturday will be mostly sunny, hazy and breezy with sherry interruptions mainly during the morning.
01:38To our sun times now in Trinidad, sunrise is at 5.54 and 5.51 in Tobago and sunset at
01:455.56 in Trinidad and 5.53 in Tobago.
01:48And for the beach lovers, tomorrow's seas will be moderate with waves 1.5 meters to 2 meters in open
01:54waters and below 1 meter in sheltered areas.

02:09Did you know that on September 30th, 1963, Category 3 Hurricane Flora struck Tobago with winds estimated at 195 kilometers
02:21per hour causing widespread destruction across the island?
02:252,750 homes were destroyed and 3,500 damaged while agriculture suffered major losses including about half of the island's
02:36coconut and cocoa trees.
02:38Around 75% of the forestry reserve was also blown down while roads and utility poles were damaged leaving some
02:47areas inaccessible.
02:49The hurricane claimed 18 lives in Tobago and 2 in Trinidad, mainly due to drowning.
