00:00Some people will still maybe not understand or maybe still not like my dance moves, that's okay.
00:04But I still really care about things and things still affect me deeply.
00:08So many people just saw like an image of me or only a few seconds video of me
00:13and then everyone was talking about it and I couldn't, you know, I couldn't break through.
00:17I couldn't get my voice out there.
00:18So Paris is such a part of who I am and it's such a part of my story.
00:24People misunderstood my performance as thinking that I wasn't aware of my skill level.
00:30But I knew that I wasn't going to win anything.
00:32It just, that's how you perform in breaking.
00:35You know, you have that confidence and you go out there strong.
00:38The risks for athletes, particularly in new sports and particularly women, you know,
00:45we saw it with skating in Tokyo, you know.
00:47It's like this is something that we really need to take seriously because the risks of this global bullying campaign,
00:55you know, some people don't survive that.
00:57It's really, really awful.
00:59So I would, you know, in any way possible, you know, love to prevent that from happening to someone else.
01:05After the games, like my whole body just felt like lead.
01:09I was just totally numb.
01:11I just, I couldn't think straight.
01:13I couldn't, you know, it was just a really strange time.
01:17Like nothing I could have ever expected or anticipated.
01:21So, so it's been like so many different levels of recovery and of putting myself out there.
01:27It was a really huge process to come to terms with that and took a lot of work, you know,
01:34mental health work.
01:35I was on, I'm on antidepressants, which I had to increase a few times.
01:39I've been seeing a therapist.
01:40I do feel like I'm embracing the chaos.
01:43I feel like I'm at a point now where I can.
01:45Whereas before I just couldn't, I couldn't even, you know, see where I was or what my future would be.
01:51And, you know, so much had just changed overnight.
01:54It's not something that you can just accept overnight or in a week or, you know, uh, in a month.
02:01So it's, um, it's, it's been a really interesting journey of like, you know, putting myself out there again and,
02:08and, uh, you know, coming back to breaking as well.
02:12And slowly, slowly, I started dancing more and more.
02:15And, and then also, you know, started going to jams again, slowly, slowly.
02:19That was a really big thing because I didn't know if people wanted to see me and, and the reception
02:24back was just, you know, welcome back.
02:27You know, this is where you belong.
02:29It's just been really important for me to not lose that and not let all of this take that away
02:34from me, uh, particularly breaking.
02:36You know, it's, it's been such a part of my life for such a long time and it always will
02:41be a part of my life.
02:42Putting yourself out there and, and not being afraid to be different, that Ray Gunn is definitely still there.
02:49And if anything, she feels, uh, a lot more comfortable in herself and a lot more, you know, unapologetically myself
02:57because, you know, the world's already laughed at me.
03:00What are they going to do now?
03:02The worst has happened.
03:04So, you know, I kind of feel a lot more resilient now.
