00:00The distraction of European football, Liverpool go in for a root and branch shake-up, really,
00:05with 18-year-old Trent Alexander-Arnold being given his senior debut.
00:09There's also a home debut for London-born, former Arsenal youth product,
00:13Obia Jaria, who came on in the last round,
00:16and a return for Kevin Stewart, who came through Spurs Academy
00:19before getting a dream move to his boyhood club here.
00:22After cutting a frustrated figure on the bench in the weekend win over West Brom,
00:26Daniel Sturridge is back in the first 11.
00:31Maurizio Pochettino also rings the changes,
00:33though Moussa Sissoko's three-match ban for Saturday's incident with Harry Arter did prompt a rethink.
00:39Georges-Kevin Nkudu makes a Tottenham starting line-up for the first time since he joined Spurs from Marseille.
00:45Otherwise, it's a similar team to the last round.
00:48Among the nine that also began that win over Gillingham,
00:50Cameron Carter-Vickers, the young American who caught his boss's eye pre-season.
00:55Eric Dier is the only player on either team who was also on starting duty at the weekend.
00:59He captains the side tonight.
01:05Get her away by Wimmer in front of Alexander-Arnold,
01:08and with the slip, Liverpool give them a chance here.
01:10Grieg's looking for the opening.
01:40Deflicts it across to Sturridge who finishes it off.
01:51He's on the move at the back stick, in case something like that happens, and it's a real good striker's
01:56goal.
01:57Maybe having a shot at goal there, but on the move, on his way in, that's the difference.
02:01That's why he got there instead of Worm, and he's got himself a goal.
02:05Any measure of faith in his ability to bring the best out of Daniel Sturridge.
02:09Sturridge goes for goal again, and forces the save, and he's rampant at the moment.
02:15Yeah, he's enjoying himself.
02:17It looked as if it was a difficult thing to do.
02:19He was out near the corner of the box.
02:20He looks up, puts some really good...
02:24They fall, whiz on the ball there, it's curling around.
02:28Keeper has to get up, maybe made it look a bit more...
02:31...away from Wimmer as a result of that.
02:34Sturridge ahead of him.
02:36Ajari has got forward two.
02:37Arubi wants to go all the way, it seems.
02:39And he's put it into Sturridge, who didn't catch it at all cleanly.
02:43Yeah.
02:44Well, here's the other thing.
02:46Feels so well, that's where this is where it all came from.
02:48Inside, Deacon's own half manages to roll the defender.
02:51Now he's in full flight.
02:52He possibly could have played it in a little bit sooner.
02:55It looks as if the chance is gone, but he sticks a leg out, and in it comes.
02:58It all opens up.
02:59And there's a little bit of him, I think, trying to give the keeper the eyes there,
03:02and make it look as if he was bending it into the far corner, and then went for the near.
03:13Jansen who delivers from the angle, and Mignolet having to be sharp with his reactions then.
03:20It's Trippier.
03:21And that's beyond Jansen, but almost followed in by Enkudu, Lucas managed to get the block in.
03:26Oh, very important block.
03:28Really good chip to the far post.
03:31Excellent.
03:32You can see as it ricochets and makes its way out.
03:35That's a let's fly.
03:36Good save down low to his left.
03:41Got going again.
03:42Gets himself to the byline.
03:43Really understand, stands it up so well.
03:45That's a real inviting ball to come in.
03:46And I think...
03:48Interception that side of Stewart's is Ejaria.
03:53Daniel Sturridge.
03:55Grujic with the effort from the angle, that drips across the face.
03:58Yeah, a decent.
04:00He's a good win back.
04:02You can see here.
04:03Jansen gets...
04:04Puts in really well there, Stewart has set the whole thing up.
04:06But then it's a matter of who can get the chance.
04:09Who makes the run.
04:10It's Grujic from an angle.
04:12It's not that bad, you know.
04:16He bent around.
04:18Benkudu.
04:19Origi delivers.
04:20To set him up for another chance.
04:22Look at this.
04:23Precision ball in behind the fullback.
04:25He knows that Stewart will be in front.
04:27Doesn't even have to look up.
04:28And you expect him to do a little bit better.
04:30The defenders may have put him off in front of him as it whizzes across.
04:34Yeah, you'll see it just...
04:40And he gave a goal!
04:41And he's very nearly producing the Gertz.
04:44Yeah, out of nothing.
04:45That's terrific.
04:45That's a real good save.
04:46He may have been show-voting a little bit earlier.
04:48This goalkeeper, he's had to do real well here.
04:51He's looking for things.
04:52There's nothing really on to it.
04:53He lets fly, but it's the power on the ball.
04:56And the accuracy heading for the top corner.
04:59And he has to do real well there, Michelle Bourne, to get across for that.
05:08But I know he's got to want it a little bit more.
05:10Spoke about his ability before the game.
05:12Jamie's beaten about him at halftime.
05:13He's got to impose himself on the game.
05:15He should have made his way into the box.
05:17And Adam slabs it through.
05:19And the flag stays down.
05:20Sturridge can make it too.
05:21He does!
05:27It's Daniel Sturridge's night.
05:29And Liverpool are heading to the quarterfinals.
05:32Yeah, inevitable that they've got a second.
05:34And Sturridge has had so many chances.
05:35He's been excellent all night.
05:38And he gets reward with his second.
05:40Well, now he does very well here.
05:42You can see the breakouts to him here.
05:44He gets to pass spot on.
05:45That's excellent ball.
05:47Excellent timing.
05:50You can see as the goalkeeper makes his way out.
05:52He keeps his composure.
05:54He does everything really well.
05:55The winner is the one who stepped up and gets it wrong.
05:59And he just does enough then to lift a little bit of a...
06:03The cat and mouse game now with the goalkeeper at this point.
06:05And he actually gets it through the legs.
06:10Still a fairly restrained celebration from Jurgen Klopp.
06:13But he'll be delighted with his main man tonight.
06:20Wijnaldum.
06:22Of course, it's the save.
06:24He does really well here.
06:26The way it comes up and down so quick.
06:28I mean, he's read it quite well.
06:31Still have to get something on it to make sure.
06:33Now on a month.
06:37Wijnaldum stretching to clear.
06:38But it came back off the Jaria.
06:41Now he's gone down and it's a penalty.
06:45Just inside the box.
06:47John Moss had no hesitation in pointing to the spot.
06:50And Jansen steps up with the ball.
06:52Yeah, Wijnaldum is in disbelief here.
06:54You can see it kind of felt as if there wasn't a lot here.
06:58And as he goes there, it's Lucas who reaches out with his right foot.
07:01Just watching.
07:02Yeah, there's a little bit of a...
07:03You can see it here.
07:04He comes here right foot of Lucas.
07:06It's not a lot really in truth, is it?
07:09John Moss was really quick to go.
07:10The Spurs has come from the penalty spot with a chance to score another.
07:15He does.
07:17Spurs are back in the game in the final quarter of an hour here.
07:20Yeah, interesting quarter now coming up.
07:23Jansen gets that goal.
07:25It's a weight off his shoulders to get that goal.
07:28Referee decided it was a penalty.
07:30Personally, I think it was a light challenge that was deemed to be a foul.
07:36But there you go.
07:37He picks up the bar here.
07:39Through to Danny Ings.
07:43Sturridge.
07:43Got a deflection.
07:44He's hit the ball.
07:47Oh, hardly nothing.
07:50Short lift back and a little flick.
07:52I know it's got a touch on it.
07:54It's just a little quick back lift.
07:57That's a terrific effort.
07:59Wow, it's so close.
08:01Just watch it.
08:02Very little back lift.
08:03Bang, comes off the...
08:05Harrison Spree on the far side.
08:06If he can pick him out.
08:07And he has.
08:08Sean Harrison.
08:10Oh, what a big throw a little better.
08:16And in the meantime, Liverpool break.
08:19Sturridge.
08:23Another half-decent effort from Sturridge.
08:26But this was the moment.
08:28Terrific ball across from Mamella.
08:30He sees him.
08:31He floated in there.
08:32Mignolet stays put.
08:33But poor.
08:34Poor in the technique.
08:36He's got a...
08:36Really arches back there and...
08:38Oh.
08:39Knocks him out.
08:42He knows that...
08:44And Norman...
08:44He tries to switch it to Danny Ings.
08:46And Ings could be in here for Liverpool.
08:49Denied by Vaughan.
08:52Great save again.
08:53This is brilliant stuff.
08:55Liverpool on the break.
08:57Ball played over the top.
08:58You can see he's underneath it.
09:01He can't head it anywhere safe.
09:02He reads it brilliantly.
09:03He's head down.
09:04Let's fly.
09:06Oh, Foram does real well again.
09:10Good pace on that.
09:12Ah, great save.
09:13Unlucky for Ings.
09:16Nearly back with a bang.
