Imagine looking up at the sky and seeing iron rain falling toward you. 🌧️🔥 Sounds like science fiction, but some of the most extreme planets in the universe are actually real. From 20,000+ mph winds on WASP-127b to iron rain on WASP-76b and possible sideways glass rain on HD 189733b, these worlds are unlike anything on Earth. Even GJ 436b has bizarre “burning ice” under extreme pressure. 🌌 Which would you rather face: iron rain, sideways glass, or 20,000-mph winds?

00:00Imagine looking up at the sky and seeing iron rain falling toward you.
00:04Sounds impossible? It is not.
00:07Somewhere in space it is actually happening.
00:10There are planets where glass flies sideways and winds reach 20,000 miles per hour.
00:16Temperatures there are hot enough to vaporize metal.
00:18And the terrifying part, these planets are real.
00:21Take WASP 127b.
00:23Its winds can reach an unbelievable 20,500 miles per hour,
00:28which is more than 35 times faster than a jet.
00:32Its cloud tops reach around 1,800 degrees Fahrenheit,
00:35and there is no solid surface to stand on.
00:38But somehow another planet is even more terrifying, WASP 76b.
00:43Its dayside is so hot that metals can actually turn into gas.
00:47And those metals move toward the cooler night side,
00:50where they can condense and fall as iron rain.
00:53And the winds? Around 11,000 miles per hour.
00:56But wait, it gets even crazier.
00:59There is HD 189733b.
01:02It is a blue planet where temperatures reach thousands of degrees
01:06and winds scream across the surface at 5,400 miles per hour.
01:10Scientists think its atmosphere contains silicate clouds that can form glass particles,
01:15potentially blown sideways by those extreme winds.
01:18And then there is GJ 436b.
01:20But this world is hot enough to have a bizarre form of burning ice under enormous pressure,
01:26while the planet is also losing its atmosphere into space,
01:30trailing a massive cloud like a comet.
01:32These worlds sound like something from a science fiction movie,
01:35but they are real planets orbiting real stars.
01:38And if you somehow landed on any of them, you would not survive for long.
01:42Which would you rather face?
01:44Iron rain, sideways glass, or 20,000 mile per hour winds?
