00:00Notre Dame, we're going to lay 21 to Bill Belichick, North Carolina,
00:04who have put forward, I feel like, the least amount of data in the country.
00:15North Carolina has played three games.
00:17Okay, thanks.
00:20They've played in week zero in Ireland, bye week.
00:26East Tennessee State, got it, that doesn't help us.
00:31The Clemson debacle, bye week, bye week, okay?
00:38And here they are against Notre Dame.
00:40So that's what makes this such a difficult game for us to, or at least for me to cap, Dave,
00:46is what am I supposed to do with North Carolina's essentially two-game sample size?
00:52Well, for one, you don't take the points, because after the disaster was Clemson, I'm out,
00:56and we'll never bet Bill Belichick ever again.
00:58I thought I learned my lesson betting against the Patriots as many times as I did.
01:03I think the only play in this game, Kevin, and it speaks to the narrative that you just said,
01:08that we don't necessarily know what we don't know, is take the under,
01:11because Notre Dame has the number one defense in the country.
01:13They do.
01:14Like, net EPA, yards per game allowed, yards per play, they have the best defense in the country.
01:19I have bet North Carolina unders, I did it in Ireland, and, you know,
01:23I had them plus the points against Clemson.
01:25They're not good on offense.
01:27They actually have a decent Belichick defense.
01:31Notre Dame has put up points this year, but they've also let their foot off the gas,
01:35Georgia style, like they used to do.
01:38I lean towards the under.
01:40It's not on my card, but if I was going to throw a,
01:43here's the other games I like decently parlay in there with a boost,
01:47Notre Dame under would make the card, simply because I don't think North Carolina has much
01:51offense, and Notre Dame has the defense.
01:53I'd love to lay the 21.
01:55It's just hard to do that on the road.
01:57We talked off air, the weather's going to be crappy in the South today,
02:00so I lean under.
02:03Notre Dame's getting the quality done.
02:05It's what they do.
02:06They're going to go play another ACC crappy team and beat them.
02:09I would lean under, and I want no part of the side of this one.
02:13Yeah, I think what is interesting to me is the sleeper CJ Carr Heisman stuff.
02:22Now, I want to be very clear.
02:24People know I'm a Notre Dame guy.
02:25I'm not saying that CJ Carr has been Heisman level to start the season.
02:29He's been super efficient.
02:30He's looked very good.
02:31It's just nothing about these games are screaming Heisman.
02:36It's kind of about Carr silently keeping himself in the mix, to where if, at the end of the
02:43regular season, Notre Dame are unbeaten, we go unbeaten.
02:49If they are unbeaten, they'll be the number one team in the country, unless there's a couple
02:53of teams that I guess that could run the table, right?
02:55But very likely, if they're unbeaten, Dave, they'll be the number one team in the country.
02:59And if he puts up a historic touchdown to interception ratio, right?
03:05He's starting to mix in the rushing touchdowns here.
03:07So, like, he has a one-and-a-half passing touchdown props of about minus 140 or so for
03:11him to throw two.
03:12If Carr is going to stay in that race, he needs to be throwing multiple touchdown passes a game.
03:17He does, because if you look at Carr versus Mensa, neither one of them has beaten anybody
03:23of relevance.
03:24Notre Dame and Miami have played eight combined games against nobody.
03:28So, Carr went into the season as the favorite.
03:31Mensa then took over as the favorite.
03:33The only difference between the two is Mensa has put up the gaudy numbers, but Carr isn't
03:39throwing three picks a game.
03:40Carr has been efficient.
03:41You put them side by side, yes, Mensa's numbers have been different and better, but
03:47they've also played crappier teams like FAMU.
03:50So, I don't understand the narrative that Carr is outside of the favorite of the Heisen race
03:55while Mensa's here.
03:57Neither one has beaten anybody.
03:59Neither one has played themselves out of the race.
04:02I want to say that it comes down to November 7th when they play each other, as well it should.
04:08But for whatever reason, Carr has fallen out.
04:11You don't hear him mentioned anywhere in the Heisman race in anybody's columns.
04:15And he's not put up 92% completion percentage that Mensa's done.
04:21He's not throwing to Malachi Tony for 300 yards a game.
04:24He's getting the job done.
04:26He hasn't played bad.
04:27So, I don't understand how the narrative is switched from Carr to Mensa when neither team
04:32has beaten anybody of significance.
04:33He's got a lot of information.
04:34We have a lot of information, but it's made of millions of students for a couple.
04:34So, I'll take the loss.
04:34So, what have you got?
