00:31The attacker caught up to the woman and brutally beat her unconscious.
00:36Minutes later, the cameras captured him returning to the scene with a crossbow in hand.
00:43He stopped next to the motionless body and shot her point blank, in the head.
00:49Then, with terrifying coldness, he dragged the body down the hallway to his apartment.
00:54As he passed in front of one of the cameras, he raised the crossbow in triumph and made an obscene

01:02And all of this, as if he were celebrating the crime he had just committed.
01:08This person was Stephen Griffiths.
01:12This man lived in the same apartment complex where the attack took place.
01:15He was someone with a plan, a predator, who had prepared for years to hunt.
01:22His method was perverse, precise, and calculated.
01:26He didn't pick just anyone.
01:27He chose vulnerable women.
01:29Sometimes, he posed as a photographer.
01:31He told them he wanted to take their portraits to showcase their beauty.
01:35Other times, he simply came across as someone kind, an educated man who listened to them,
01:41who didn't treat them with violence.
01:42And that was the bait.
01:44That was the trap.
01:46Once they agreed to go up to his apartment, what happened in there was brutal.
01:52He would attack them, beat them, subdue them, and then he would murder them with a crossbow.
01:58And Susan wasn't the only one.
02:01Before her, two more women had disappeared.
02:03One of them was Susan Rushworth, and the other was named Shelley Armitage.
02:10Stephen Griffiths was arrested shortly after the murder of Susan Lemirez.
02:15In shortly after, the authorities discovered that it wasn't just this case, but there was another.
02:23This was because he himself confessed to killing the other two women, Shelley and Susan.
02:29During the trial, it became evident that Griffiths had planned everything carefully,
02:34from his fascination with serial killers to his studies in criminology.
02:39And everything seemed to be part of a long road toward his real goal,
02:43which was to become a serial killer himself.
02:47He was sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole.
